Activities at Awel-Y-Mor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Activities Coordinators

Awel-Y-Mor's activities team consists of three Activities Coordinators, each having a specialist unique role within the group, including work in the multi-sensory concept, as well as organising days out, trips to sporting events and pop concerts, and arranging themed days. Jo has been with us for over ten years, beginning her Barchester career as a Carer, and Julie joined us in 2018.

Friendship Day

for Friendship Day, we enjoyed games and a coffee afternoon. The residents loved playing giant snakes and ladders and family members joined in as well.

Awel Y Mor's Divisional Winner

Congratulations to Tracey Protheroe, who has been named as a Divisional Winner in the Hospitality Champion category at this year's Barchester Care Awards.

Celebrating the Queen's Birthday

We have been celebrating the Queens 90th birthday.

We had a BBQ and staff dressed up in clothes for all the decades, from the 1920s to the 2010s.

Her Majesty also made an appearance!

A Stroll Along the Shore

The residents from Awel Y Mor enjoyed lunch and a stroll along the shore front, then had ice cream at Joe's Ice Cream Parlour. It was a lovely day!

England Rugby Match

Residents from Awel-Y-Mor and their families enjoyed the big screen for the Wales and England rugby game! At half time everyone had chicken curry with rice and chips. Great fun was had by all!
