Activities at Awel-Y-Mor Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Jo & Julie

Activities Coordinators

Awel-Y-Mor's activities team consists of three Activities Coordinators, each having a specialist unique role within the group, including work in the multi-sensory concept, as well as organising days out, trips to sporting events and pop concerts, and arranging themed days. Jo has been with us for over ten years, beginning her Barchester career as a Carer, and Julie joined us in 2018.

Life at Awel-Y-Mor Care Home

,

Children in Need

We supported Children in Need by wearing pyjamas to work and participating in a bike challenge. We also hosted a coffee morning with a homemade Pudsey cake, which was made by a resident.

,

Remembrance Day

Residents and staff created this amazing display in preparation for Remembrance Day. Many residents have close ties to the military, so it was very important that we honoured the fallen here at Awel-Y-Mor.

,

Halloween Celebrations

Halloween afternoon was a big success with staff, residents and families, where they enjoyed carving pumpkins.

Halloween Crafts

Halloween Crafts

Residents asked to decorate some coconuts for Halloween – what a great idea!

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Our Macmillan Coffee Morning was a huge success, not only with the residents and their families, but also with the local school children, who are involved with some our pen-pal scheme. They all enjoyed homemade cakes and we raised a total of £103.

Autumn Table

Autumn Table

Residents had fun making an autumn-themed table, which made the foyer seem even more warm and welcoming than it already was!
