Activities at Awel-Y-Mor Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Jo & Julie
Awel-Y-Mor's activities team consists of three Activities Coordinators, each having a specialist unique role within the group, including work in the multi-sensory concept, as well as organising days out, trips to sporting events and pop concerts, and arranging themed days. Jo has been with us for over ten years, beginning her Barchester career as a Carer, and Julie joined us in 2018.

Life at Awel-Y-Mor Care Home
Organ Recital
2 residents from Awel-Y-Mor attended an organ recital at our local church, and we had tea and cake with the organist and vicar afterward. It was a very pleasant evening!
On the 23rd July, we will be attending the next organ recital by the renowned concert organist, Huw Tregelles-Williams.
Seaside Outing
Residents and staff from Hafan-Y-Coed , Bryn Ivor Lodge and Llys-Y-Tywysog, 3 of our sister homes, enjoyed a day trip out to the seaside town or Porthcawl. Fun was had by all!
Our Divisional Winner
Well done to Jayne Satterley, who was named as a Divisional Winner in the 'Community Engagement Award' category for the 2019 Barchester Care Awards.
Artistic Painting
Ashley, a resident at Awel-y-Mor Care Centre, who is also an ex art student at college, had a great time working on an aesthetic piece of art. The modern painting will go up on the wall at the centre.
Sunny Trip Out
Two gentleman from Awel-y-Mor Care Centre had a lovely and sunny day out at the Wetlands. They saw different types of birds and had a meal at the local pub after the trip.
