Activities at Awel-Y-Mor Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Jo & Julie
Awel-Y-Mor's activities team consists of three Activities Coordinators, each having a specialist unique role within the group, including work in the multi-sensory concept, as well as organising days out, trips to sporting events and pop concerts, and arranging themed days. Jo has been with us for over ten years, beginning her Barchester career as a Carer, and Julie joined us in 2018.

Life at Awel-Y-Mor Care Home
Remember, Remember
Barbara, Mikey, Simon and Brian (residents) put together an e-mail about Guy Fawkes Night, with all the history, and why they wanted to blow up the Houses of Parliament. They also talked about their childhood memories of Bonfire Night and what fireworks they liked best.
Live Entertainment
Residents had a rockin' time when Jimmy ‘Elvis’ came to sing. The room was full of laughter and fun.
Autumn in Here
Residents had a great time making autumnal decorations and displaying them on our harvest table.
Music Appreciation Group
In our Music Appreciation Group, a resident researched information and gave a talk about Elvis Presley’s life. The group watched videos of some of his songs as well.
Gardening Club
How tall will it grow? Our sunflowers in bloom brighten up our garden and residents from our Garden Club are pleased with the results.
Musical Magic
It was a lovely afternoon when the ukulele band came to play their songs and instruments for the residents of Awel-YMor, especially when they recognised the songs.
