Activities at Atfield House Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Atfield House Care Home

,

International Scrabble Day

Residents really do enjoy a game of scrabble, when they found out there was a day dedicated to the game, they really upped the stakes. It got quite competitive with even a prize for the overall winner.

Easter Celebrations

Residents had a lot of fun over the Easter break. They made their own Easter bonnets, decorated little ceramic bunnies for the Easter table and also donated 100 Easter eggs to the local young carers too.

World Poetry Day

Our Residents book club tried something different for poetry day. They asked everyone their favourite poems and made their own book from all the recommendations. Everyone took turns in reading the extracts to the group. They all really enjoyed the change and one they will continue in the future.

Spring planting

Spring has sprung here at Atfield House. The residents enjoy nothing more than pottering around in the garden. So we have decided to introduce a small herb garden. We will be able to watch them grow and also enjoy them in some of the dishes that the chef makes too

,

Comic Relief fun

Residents and Staff all got involved and had lots of fun on Red Nose Day. Funny noses, silly jokes, music and laughter. All while raising money for a great cause. In the evening everyone settled down to watch the televised version too.
