Activities at Atfield House Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Life at Atfield House Care Home

Keeping hobbies going

We know the importance of maintaining independence and encouraging them to keep hobbies alive and enjoying them. James was always an avid gardener and he loves nothing more than pottering around the garden and tending to the tomato and cucumber plants.

Birthday Celebrations

We love a birthday here at Atfield House and we always know how to celebrate in style. Iris was no exception. Balloons, Fizz and a homemade cake were the order of the day. Finished off with a fun quiz for everyone.

Lets Bake

We understand the importance of maintaining independence and keeping active. Residents really enjoy baking afternoons. We make a variety of sweet treats and different breads to try with our homemade soups.

Releasing our feathered friends

Residents and staff recently had the privilege of watching these ducking's come into the world and grow. Mum made a nest in the courtyard of the home. Everyone watched and nurtured them. However we knew that we needed to let them fly their wings in the outside world. Staff took them safely to the Duke of North Humberland river and released them back to nature.

Celebrating our wonderful carers

For Carer's week. we wanted to make everyone feel very special and appreciated for the fantastic work they do every day. Staff were treated to deliveries of the nations favourite coffee’s, iced coffee’s, frappuchino’s and icecreams. Head chef Robert also put together a wonderful spread of party food for everyone to enjoy.  Family and friends arrived throughout the afternoon to join in the fun with staff and residents.

Community Spirit for Carers Week

Staff at Atfield House took to the streets to deliver packages of care to those in the community that also do an amazing job looking after those that need it. They visited Twickenham Cricket club that host an afternoon club for the eldery every week. Then to Together as one, an organisation that offers support too. Everyone was so happy with their gifts of thanks.
