Activities at Atfield House Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

National Fish & Chip Day

Staff and residents at Atfield House had a fantastic time celebrating National Fish & Chip Day on Fryday 4th June, surely one of the best days of the year!

Robert Head chef whipped up a selection of different flavoured batters for residents to try along with some home-made tartare sauce and mushy peas, everyone had a great time guessing the different batter ingredients. The sun was shining so some of the residents took to the garden to eat their fish and chips in paper cones with wooden forks in time-honoured tradition.

Garden project donations

We want to say a big thank you to the Sparkle foundation. They recently donated and took the time to drop off some wonderful gardening items for our residents. They love nothing more than pottering around in the garden so these are a much welcomed addition for everyone to enjoy.

Live Floristry Masterclass with Bloominghaus

Residents were treated to a live virtual flower arranging demonstration with a difference, it was wonderful that our residents were able to follow along and create their own floral displays using flowers from our own garden and the local florist. It was a really enjoyable afternoon, we’re so grateful to Michal and Michael from Blooming Haus for this experience.”

International Nurses Day

Every day we thank our Nurses for the wonderful work they do for us and how they make Atfield House brilliant. But on Nurses day, It was all about them. There was a presentation with chocolates and certificates for everyone followed by afternoon tea complete with music and lots of laughter. We even took to the local town to give thanks to all those nurses working in our community that we couldn't be without.

Welcomed Visitors

Our garden has recently become a nesting place for a Duck and her little ducklings. Residents ahve just loved their visits and walks round our secluded garden. Each day they make sure they have been fed and count them all to make sure they are safe and well.
