Activities at Atfield House Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Dhanish Kunnum Purath
I am Dhanish , I have joined Atfield House in October 2023. I worked as a wellbeing coordinator in my previous role . I have pursued my Masters in Public Health from University of West London . I aim to deliver person centred meaningful activities to Residents which evoke their Mind, Body and Soul. Special tailored activities at Atfield House ensures community involvement and intergenerational support . Range of activities includes stretching exercises to Sensory Namaste experience, Quizzes to Ball games, Baking to Gardening, Sing along to music concert of famous artists and more one to one interactive sessions which all meant to promote social interaction, cognitive and physical stimulation, and overall enjoyment at Home. We always create a vibrant and supportive environment for residents to thrive.

Celebrating the Old New Year
The Old New Year or the Orthodox New Year is an informal traditional holiday, celebrated as the start of the New Year by the Julian calendar. In the 20th and 21st centuries, the Old New Year falls on January 14 in the Gregorian calendar
A festive fifteenth in our Barchester Quiz
Atfield House staff and residents pulled out all the stops by dressing up in their glittery Christmas best to link up with all the other care homes in the south of the country for a whole host of different fun activities culminating in the Barchester Big Quiz of the Year.
When they weren’t quizzing, residents enjoyed a feast of festive foods prepared by the home’s Head Chef

It really is the most wonderful time of the year and our Residents took turns posing as Santa by the Christmas tree!
Gingerbread treats
We here at Atfield are quite creative! Our skills are obvious and our gingerbread people are a good looking group!
Community spirit
Our local community is thoughtful and supportive. Students from local schools made our Residents’ Christmas even lovelier with presents and hand-made cards!
Botanical Illustrations
Thinking of sunny days and inspired by the beauty of Kew Gardens, our residents wanted to recreate botanical illustrations in watercolour. The results were wonderful!
