Activities at Atfield House Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

St Patrick's Day

Here at Atfield House we love a celebration.  St Patricks day is a celebration of Irish culture on or around 17th March. On the day this year we celebrated by dancing and listening to Irish music, enjoyed Irish beer and cup cakes.  A good time was had by all

International Woman's Day

Here on International Woman's Day our female residents and staff had an amazing treat from our NEW General Manager,  Subin Sebastian.

Our fantastic female workforce were greeted and treated on arrival at work by a red carpet, balloons, chocolate, drinks and a beautiful, individual rose

Subin then visited each female resident with the same treats and an individual rose. It was so lovely to see.

International Women's Day is a global day celebrating the social, economic, cultural, and political achievements of women. The day also marks a call to action for accelerating women's equality.

We have that Friday Feeling

Robert our Head Chef and his team have produced this fantastic choice for Friday lunch menu.

Traditional fish and chips or bacon and mushroom pasta. Followed by home made coconut and jam pudding. There are also other delicious alternatives if this does not suit your pallet.

Its really a tough choice

Nest Boxes

Have you seen our fantastic  our fantastic Nest Boxes. We are waiting for them to have new residents

We put these Nest Boxes up in our gardens for National Nest Box Week, which takes place each year from Feb 14-21 to encourage everyone to put up nest boxes in their local area to promote the conservation of our breeding birds and wildlife. Garden songbirds can struggle to find suitable nesting holes and cavities if there are a lack of mature trees in the area.

Our gardens are well populated with wildlife. Recently birds seen in our gardens include a kingfisher, heron, jay, egret, mallards, sparrows and of course the beautiful wild green parakeet.

Both residents and staff are excited to see if Atfield House receive any guests in our nesting box. We shall keep you informed

Gifts from our fantastic Community

Throughout recent months Atfield House have really felt the love from our fantastic community within our surrounding area.

So thank you so much to 'The Camomile Flower Design' for these beautiful roses.  Our residents were thrilled

Our Valentines Magic Table

Atfield House's fantastic Magic Table was themed with valentines games this week.

The Magic Table 360 is portable so it can be used wherever residents feel most comfortable, it can be projected onto the floor, ceiling, walls, a whiteboard or even the bed.

The benefits of the Magic Table 360 has shown to improve mood and behaviours of people living with dementia, greater physical, social and cognitive activity, reduction in withdrawn-like symptoms, weight gain and positive impacts on relationships with care staff, friends and family.

Staff and residents have all thoroughly enjoyed the Valentine's fun here at Atfield House, we hope you too.
