Meet the team
Our trained team of professionals work together to create the best possible experience for those living in the home, striving to deliver excellent care services in a warm, homely environment. You can find out more about some of our wonderful staff members below:
I have been a registered nurse for 36 years, working with older people in care homes and the community for 20 years. I was very fortunate at the start of my career to work in a very forward looking environment that was advocating person centred care. This is the way I have continued to care for residents.
I have worked for several companies, I moved to Atfield House in July 2012. I hope to finish my working career with Barchester Healthcare. I am fortunate to be managing a dedicated team some of whom have been in post since Atfield House opened in 1997.
On a personal level I have two children, three cats and have recently acquired a springer spaniel puppy called Ruby. Ruby will come to work with me. I unwind at weekends by going to the Stoop and cheering on Harlequins.
I started working in Atfield house in 2004 as a Carer, and was eventually promoted to General Nurse, Head of Unit and, finally, Deputy Manager. I consider Atfield to be one of the most welcoming and friendly homes. My role is to ensure that all residents receive the highest standard of care and always take into account personal wishes and requirements. I focus on delivering person-centred care to support residents in understanding the aging process, to maximize their independence, and create a safe, homely environment for everyone in the home. I offer support and guidance to all Nurses and Carers and work closely with external healthcare professionals.
I started working for Barchester Healthcare at Atfield house in November 2014 as a Registered Nurse. I have a degree in Nursing and a masters in Management of Health and Social Services. I came here not knowing what to expect and I fell in love with the place and the people. I find it very rewarding to be a part of residents' lives and to help improve it. I've met some wonderful people and learnt a lot from them. Overall, I feel grateful for being here.
My role as an Administrator gives me the opportunity to spend my working days meeting future residents and their families. I love being part of a dynamic and caring team, and seeing how well residents live - with dignity, choice and a lot of fun!
Hi, my name is Robert, and I am the Acting Head Chef here Atfield House.
