Meet the Atfield House Care Home Team

I joined Barchester in 2019 and I have been the General Manager of Atfield House Nursing home since 2022, I am committed to ensuring the residents receive the very highest standard of care, and I am passionate about developing and leading my team in a way in which they are empowered to use their skills and knowledge for the wellbeing of those we support. I am so proud to receive the CQC inspection report with one outstanding rating under responsive domain. My favourite part of the job is meeting all our residents and finding out about their life and backgrounds - I have met some really interesting people throughout my career and I think life history plays such a vital part in everyone’s care. My vision for Atfield house is to create a  home away from home environment for our residents and being one big happy family.

I have over 14 years’ experience in the care sector and I have recently completed my Step up programme with Warwick university and Barchester. I really enjoy the daily challenges, team recruitment and always pushing and exceeding performance where I can. I also enjoy adding value, enhancing care and giving elder life purpose to enable residents to engage in a fulfilled life. l am passionate about delivering the levels and standards of care that I would expect for my own parents. Making a difference to people's lives throughout my career has been my biggest achievement. I strive to continually develop which ensures that the individuals I care for experience the very best care and life enrichment in later life. Every day is an achievement, delivering and pushing the levels of care to exceed the expectations of Barchester and myself.

My name is Aila, and I am a registered nurse from the Philippines. I joined Barchester in 2022, bringing with me the academic foundation that includes a degree in Nursing, a qualification in Medical Technology, and a BTEC Level 7 Diploma in Strategic Management and Leadership. I am dedicated to continuously enhancing my professional skills and knowledge.

I am deeply committed to making a positive impact on the lives of our residents and particularly enjoy engaging in activities with them and taking the time to learn about their life stories. This helps me provide more personalised and meaningful care that truly aligns with their needs and preferences.

I believe in the importance of ongoing learning, collaboration, and research to continually improve the quality of care. By sharing best practices with colleagues and staying informed, I strive to ensure that the care we provide meets the highest standards. Hi, my name is Robert, and I am the Acting Head Chef here Atfield House. I have been working at Atfield House since 2006. I am now Head Chef, my role is to produce a fresh, nutritious and well-balanced menu suited to the needs of each resident. I enjoy chatting with residents and their visitors and ensuring that they enjoy the food I have prepared.

I have been working at Atfield House since February 2022. During this period of time, I have faced many challenges and hurdles in order to reach the position I am in today. I have been recently promoted Head of Housekeeping this wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible team that we have here. I enjoy my Role as head of Housekeeping; it has boosted my confidence and inspires me to achieve more.

Hi, I’m Dara and I am proud to have recently joined Barchester and Atfield House in 2024, as an Administrative Assistant.

I joined as I find it rewarding to work in a care home like Atfield, and help create a welcoming and supportive atmosphere that has a positive impact on people’s lives.

I am Lalita, and have been a carer at Atfield House since April 2021. I have been a carer since 2010 and a role I enjoy very much. I previously worked in several care homes around the local area. I enjoy working with different people and providing the best care possible to everyone. My nature is helping people so this is the perfect role for me.

Carmen has joined Atfield House Care Home in April this year. She is working along with the Activities Team. She has previously worked at Trinity Court Nursing Home for 12 years as an Activities Coordinator and can bring lots of experience to Atfield Care Home. The Residents especially enjoy Carmen Singing with her Guitar, during a sing a long session or from room to room. Carmen is looking forward to spending more time in this interesting role of providing activities at Atfield House.

I started working in Atfield house in 2004 as a Carer, and was eventually promoted to General Nurse, Head of Unit and, finally, Deputy Manager. I consider Atfield to be one of the most welcoming and friendly homes. My role is to ensure that all residents receive the highest standard of care and always take into account personal wishes and requirements. I focus on delivering person-centred care to support residents in understanding the aging process, to maximize their independence, and create a safe, homely environment for everyone in the home. I offer support and guidance to all Nurses and Carers and work closely with external healthcare professionals.

Hi, I am Christina and I am on of the nursing team here at Atfield House. I really enjoy my role here. I love the interaction with our residents, not just caring for them but getting to know them and their life stories. It is a very rewarding job.

Krisztina is our  Administrator and is really pleased to be working for Barchester Healthcare, she joined the company in 2016. Krisztina joined Atfield House in early June 2023  and has already established herself in the home and is a valued member of the team. I really enjoy meeting residents and their loved ones and I am very proud to be part of the Atfield House Team.

My name is Suresh and I have been working at Atfield House since October 2022 as a Health Care Assistant. During this period of time, I have faced many challenges and hurdles in order to reach the position I am in today. I have been recently promoted Head of Maintenance this wouldn’t have been possible without the incredible team that we have here. I enjoy my role as a Head of Maintenance it has boosted my confidence and inspires me to achieve more. My responsibilities are to ensure that all statutory requirements are up to date and that safety comes first for everyone at Atfield House.

Hi, I'm Carol I have been working at Atfield House for over fifteen years. I just love being around the residents and immersing myself into every day life in the home. Meeting new families and seeing how well the residents settle into their new lives is also very rewarding.

I am a senior carer here at Atfield House and have been here for 16 years. I enjoy looking after people and we have a very good team here that make that possible. 

I have been a member of the care team since 2020. In this time I have learnt alot. They are a great team to be part of and we all work very well together. Previously I was a Chef and Manager of a Caribbean restaurant to very diverse roles for me. However one I enjoy alot.
