Activities at Atfield House Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Santa Visits Atfield House

After a really busy few weeks full of fun activities and lots of fabulous food, drink and music. Christmas would not be Christmas without a visit from the man himself. A sack filled with individual gifts for everyone to enjoy.

Christmas sweet trolley

Who doesn't love some good old fashioned sweets. Staff and Residents turned this unused trolley into a mobile shop for all to enjoy. It ranges from a pop up handy store to a sweet cart and much more. Residents really enjoy picking their own sweet treats from a wide selection available. All without leaving the comfort of their home.

Filling the home with festive cheer

Every year Staff and Residents love the process of decorating the home. From getting everything down from the loft to sorting where everything will go. Each year it gets bigger and better. with this year having four trees as well as home made decorations too. All completed with some mince pies, mulled wine and festive songs playing around the home.

Christmas Cake Competition

Atfield entered Barchester's Christmas Cake Competition. Our Head Chef baked a delicious cake, but the design and decorations were a team effort. Our cake features a polar bear, penguins, an igloo, trees and a pond. We are looking forward to seeing what our competition comes up with.

Christmas Crafts

The countdown to Christmas has begun, and the trees will be decorated soon. That is why the residents of Atfield House got together for a Christmas-themed arts & crafts session. Our hand-painted deer and bells will soon be decorating the home.

100th Birthday Celebrations

On 26th November, Marion celebrated her 100th birthday in the comfort of her home at Atfield House.

Marion has many friends and acquaintances in the local community, as she was a teacher at the Green School and served as hospital chaplain at West Middlesex Hospital. Many of them joined the celebration via Zoom, and wished her a happy birthday. Others sent in their good wishes, cards and flowers.

Staff members and residents gathered to raise a glass of champagne in honour of Marion, who means so much to so many.
