Activities at Atfield House Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Celebrating Carers Week

The wonderful staff were treated to a week of celebrations by the home. They spanned from gifts of prosecco & chocolate. A pizza delivery for everyone and fruit platters throughout the week. Elaine the general manager knows just how hard the team work looking after loved ones on a daily basis. She wanted to make sure she gave something back to say a really big thank you for their care and dedication.

Enjoying the Sunshine

Lazy afternoon's soaking up the sun and drinking tea in our beautiful gardens. That has been the order of the day so lucky our residents have a lovely place to be able to sit enjoy and watch the world go by.

Virtual tour of the Museum

Residents were treated to a virtual tour of a local museum. They got to see all behind the scenes, walk the empty corridors and ask lots of questions about life at teh museum. One resident said it was better than being there in person I felt very privaliged to get this opportunity.

Fabulous Flower Delivery

We were lucky enough to receive these beautiful boxes crammed full of stunning flowers from our local florist. They wanted to let everyone know that they were thinking of us, so there was enough for everyone. The home is so colourful and smells fantastic too.

Quacktastic

Atfield House has a new resident! A mallard duck has made her nest in a raised bed in our Courtyard Unit; she has laid 9 eggs. We have put up signs asking for her to be left alone, as everyone is very interested.

We will have to find out what to do when they hatch, as they are not able to access the river from this garden. It may involve buying a paddling pool! The first hatched ducking will be named Hope, as we all need some of that during this time.
