Activities at Alice Grange Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Penny Allen

Lead Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Penny and I am the Lead Activities Coordinator here at Alice Grange.

I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities, leisure and lifestyle roles.

I love being part of the Alice Grange team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the residents' input into our weekly planner is important as it gives all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous passions and hobbies.

You Put Your Left Leg In, Your Left Leg Out......

An important part of our health and well-being programme is focused on physical fitness.

This week we have been enjoying some light physical exercise with the brilliant therapist Darren Barnes who is helping to ensure we all stay as fit, healthy and limber as possible.

We always have a great laugh with Darren when he visits and feel better in ourselves afterwards.

Bank Holiday Fun

Bank Holiday Monday involved a whole host of activities for the residents at Alice Grange. The day included a brilliant chair exercises session which was joined by a certain cuddly canine, along with a visit from the ice-cream van, music, games and great food.

Singers, Music And Silliness

There are always some people up for a laugh and ready to make noise and we applaud those people. This week we've been getting up to a range of silliness in the garden and around the home.

We've had the wonderfully talented Angie singing in the sunshine this week at Alice Grange. The residents have also been trying their hand at different musically instruments (to mixed success!) and generally having fun in the sun.

Elvis, Pub And Classic Cars

What a great outing. Some of our ladies went with Activities Coordinator Penny to a local pub for dinner and to watch Elvis perform live. There were a couple of beautiful classic cars outside to admire as well which was a great bonus.

Live music, outings, dinners and other activities are what life is all about at Alice Grange.

Austin The PAT Dog Visits

The world's friendliest canine was back to visit his friends at Alice Grange this week. Residents were ready and waiting with treats for the wonderful Austin.

We love having Austin visit us here and he always brings a smile to everyone's face.

Gardening Club

The Alice Grange Gardening Club has been hard at work ensuring our gardens look lovely in the summer sun. Our talented green-fingered residents take a lot of pride in our gardens and greenhouse and enjoy using them for everything from morning coffees to garden concerts to quiet Afternoon Tea.
