Activities at Alice Grange Care Home
Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.
Penny Allen
Hi, my name is Penny and I am the Lead Activities Coordinator here at Alice Grange.
I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities, leisure and lifestyle roles.
I love being part of the Alice Grange team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the residents' input into our weekly planner is important as it gives all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous passions and hobbies.
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Alice Grange Care Home
Celebrating VE Day
Victory in Europe Day was a huge occasion in the early life of many of our residents and they have celebrated it every year since.
This year at Alice Grange we celebrated together with music, dancing, cake and swapping memories of previous celebrations. With our very own Shirley on the piano, the whole home was up dancing and singing along.
Happy Birthday Margaret
Our wonderful Margaret had her birthday this week and we were only too happy to help her t celebrate turning..... 21!
Happy Birthday Margaret!
Fun In The Sun
We have been making the most of the sunshine to get out in the garden for our chair exercise sessions this week.
Our weekly chair exercise sessions are a lot of fun and very important for staying limber and mobile for as long as possible. We love being able to use the garden as well just to make the experience even more enjoyable.
It's the little things that mean so much
Our wonderful carers, nurses, activity coordinators, maintenance team, kitchen team, admin team and housekeepers work very hard to make sure that Alice Grange is a wonderful place to live.
Occasionally a resident or family member will drop in with a special thank you and these always mean the world to our team!
Easter Fun At Alice Grange
We had a brilliant Easter weekend at Alice Grange!
Some of our residents visited All Saints Church in Kesgrave to join the Easter services. Our wonderful chef Titus baked dozens of beautiful Hot Cross Buns to donate to the church service so that the whole congregation could enjoy a delicious bun after the service.
We also absolutely loved hosting the children from Grange Farm nursery who came to down to help us find all the Easter Eggs that the Easter Bunny had left in our garden!
The children had a great time gathering the eggs and enjoying a bouncy castle as well! Our residents enjoyed the noisy fun in the sun and some of them even raced the children to find the most eggs!
Fundraising Memory Walk
Edith Hermoza, our Activity Coordinator took part in a 5 mile walk in memory of former Ipswich Mayor Roger Fern, and as part of an Alzheimer’s and Dementia Alliance sponsored event.
Before the Walk started Jess Baldry, the event manager thanked Roger’s family for the support and assistance from Alzheimer’s Research UK and Ipswich Dementia Alliance. Then the Mayor of Ipswich, Elizabeth Hughes, paid tribute to Roger Fern who was devoted to helping people with dementia and their families.
