Activities at Alice Grange Care Home

Activities are an integral part of life at our care home. We want to ensure that the people we support have as much fun as possible during their time with us, so it’s important that our activities programme is created with the interests of residents in mind. Our skilled Activities Coordinators bring a certain uniqueness to the home that can’t be found anywhere else, and which is reflected in the activities they organise.

Penny Allen

Lead Activities Coordinator

Hi, my name is Penny and I am the Lead Activities Coordinator here at Alice Grange.

I have many years of experience working in care homes in Activities, leisure and lifestyle roles.

I love being part of the Alice Grange team and supporting our residents to live their best lives with fun, interesting, and varied activities available every week. I always feel that the residents' input into our weekly planner is important as it gives all residents equal opportunity to explore new interests as well as keeping up with previous passions and hobbies.

Labra-doodle Fun!

We had a lovely volunteer Maggie visiting with her Labra-doodle Betty. Betty is 3 years old and she is a lovely girl with a gentle manner.

Maggie and Betty visited us for a first time this week and have been truly spoilt by the love, joy and kindness from residents and families.

Maggie and Betty are looking forward to visit us regularly and becoming a part of Alice Grange family.

Random Acts Of Kindness

Yesterday we celebrated Random Acts Of Kindness Day by handing out chocolates and kindness cards throughout the day.

We all took time out to to chat and share a quick laugh together. The whole team was pleased to get a lovely and unique message in their card, and everyone appreciated the chocolates!

Kindness and teamwork ensure that Alice Grange is a happy home.

Relaxing Post-Christmas

Our festive season was full of numerous live music performances, animal therapy visits, expert-led cooking demonstrations, competitions, great food, games, fun and laughter.

As the year winds to an end, we have been relaxing and eating the last of our Christmas chocolates. Some of our residents have been using their skills to create beautiful flower arrangements with which to decorate the home, whilst others have been listening to (non-Christmas) music and playing games.

Bunny Therapy

Alice Grange was hopping with joy as a fluffle (yes that really is the word for a group) of bunnies visited our home!

We were pleased to welcome back our friends from Performing Pets who proved again why they are one of the country's leading animal therapy organisations.

These adorable bunnies provided amusement for residents and staff alike, their calm nature allowing for some wonderful relaxing moments.

Animal therapy is a cornerstone of our activities programme and this adorable session was thoroughly enjoyed. Performing Pets are always welcome at Alice Grange and our partnership with them has been very successful.
