Activities at Windmill Manor Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Village Fair

This year, the theme for the Hurst Green Village Fair was Staycation, after not being able to travel.

We decided to put our heads together, and decided we would dress as Hi De Hi, representatives, on our Windmill Manor stall.

It was an amazing day and lovely to be part of our local community, and seeing some of our own residents, who came with their families.

To end the afternoon we were awarded the cup for winning the best dressed stall.

The Baker of Windmill

The Bakers of Windmill Manor love to join together to do our weekly baking. We decided to make some cherry brandy muffins, because the weather has turned cooler.

Harvest Festival

The Harvest Festival table is complete. Staff and residents have been busy creating magnificent sculptures made of salt dough.

We used flour, salt and water, with a lot of muscle to firstly knead our dough, and then enjoyed modelling our replicas of corn, bread and rolls.

Home-Grown Veg

Members of our Gardening Club are very proud of their small allotment area. The produce has been amazing, and we’re keen to keep green at Windmill Manor.

National Lipstick Day

Inches of Oxted, a Clarins Gold Beauty Salon, kindly donated a range of products for us to enjoy for our pamper day to celebrate National Lipstick Day. We also received a variety of lipsticks from Vital Tone, Caterham. The residents of Windmill Manor had a wonderful day of glamour.

Arts & Crafts

Residents of Windmill Manor have been busy making lavender bags. We enjoyed picking the lavender from our beautiful garden, as part of the process it was then left to dry. Finally, we stuffed the bags and a beautiful outcome was achieved with a fragrant lavender aroma.
