Activities at Windmill Manor Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Life at Windmill Manor Care Home

"Home grown" Talent!

Barchester Healthcare promotes and supports a "whole home" approach. At Windmill Manor we go one step further and encourage hidden talents to come to the fore! Costa, one of our amazing carers loves to play the guitar, but he didn't have one! General Manager, Krystyna said " well we'll get you one!"  Thank you Costa. Our residents and team had the best time!

Magic Tables

At Barchester, we are always looking at ways to improve our resident's quality of life. Magic Tables are a series of interactive light projected games that have a real positive effect on those living with dementia through sensory stimulation, relaxation and reminiscence.

ST Patrick's Day

A fantastic evening was had by all. Our dear friend, Barry sang our favourite Irish tunes, guinness was on tap and chef made some delicious savoury Irish snacks including mini crispy cheese skins with corned beef and cabbage sliders to name just two!

Employee of The Month

Christina was quite rightly awarded "Employee of the month" for February. Many of her colleagues and our families wrote about how hard working she was, full of passion and fun! Well done indeed Christina!

Social Care Reflection and Remembrance Day

Today is "Social Care Day of Remembrance and Reflection" and colleagues at Windmill Manor were keen to remember our dear nurse, Ana in particular who sadly died of a stroke in these awfully stressful covid times. God bless you Ana. RIP. We have chosen and will plant a Cherry Blossom in your memory and the memory of other "loved" ones.

15 years service!

"Windmill Manor is a great place to work." We were delighted to be able to award Daryl for 15 years service at Barchester Healthcare! So many of our team have been in post for several years, but Daryl explains that he'd never move on as he loves being part of a strong team and part of such a happy environment for our residents! Thank you so much for all you do Daryl and many congratulations!
