Activities at Windmill Manor Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Life at Windmill Manor Care Home

Christmas arts and crafts

We had a very fun and creative afternoon recently at Windmill Manor as we spent time making soft toys out of recycled odd socks! As you can see from the photo we have some very talented residents. Our wonderful creations took their place at the bottom of the Christmas tree so they could be enjoyed by all over the festive period.

Christmas singing at Windmill Manor

We were treated to a wonderful afternoon activity recently as we had a local singer in to sing festive songs for the residents and staff. Everyone had a great time singing along to our favourite Christmas songs, it certainly got us into the festive spirit!

Homemade Decorations

We created festive decorations and displayed them around Windmill Manor, made by residents and Activities Coordinator Kimberley. We all had a lovely time.

Birthday Celebration

We celebrated Derek’s birthday in style recently. Derek was joined by residents and friends and enjoyed delicious treats and a glass of fizz to mark the special occasion.

Christmas Jumper Day

We were helping to make the world a better place by wearing festive jumpers in aid of Save the Children’s annual fundraising event, Christmas Jumper Day.

Our residents have been encouraged to borrow or decorate their own special Christmas jumpers and raise awareness for children in need all around the world.

It was a wonderful day, enjoyed by all.

Carol Singers

In the beginning of December, we had several carol singers, who visited our home and sang for the residents who thoroughly enjoyed themselves and had a good old boogie!
