Activities at Windmill Manor Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Life at Windmill Manor Care Home

Jubilee Plate Making

Plate Painting for the Queens Jubilee. The residents of Windmill Manor decided to opt for traditional red white and blue over purple and silver for our plate painting. We had a great discussion about the 75years Queen Elizabeth 11 has reigned and she was now 96 years old. We ended our activity discussing what we were doing at the time of her coronation and a good old sing song including the National Anthem.

Chelsea Flower Show

Our very own stamp on the Chelsea Flower show. We were busy creating a flower collage today. Our residents enjoyed choosing their preferred colours and textures to add a personal touch to our design.

Memory Cafe

Windmill Manor's fortnightly Memory Cafe was a huge success today with several local folk living with dementia and their "better" halves enjoying a coffee, cake, some time together and a cuddle with Baxter, James' wonderful furry friend! The next one is on Tuesday 7th at 11.00am with a "Pimms" making and tasting session!

A trip out!

A lovely morning spent at Knights Garden Centre. Our first minibus outing in a long while, had an excellent result. Keen gardeners enjoyed looking at the plants, reminiscing about their own greenhouses and what fruit and vegetables they grew. Our ladies were absorbed in an array of colour and the scent from different flowering plants. No better way to end the trip than a delicious cup of coffee and generous slice of cake before returning home.
