Activities at Vecta House Care Home

Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Hello, My name is Tanya and I am the Lifestyle Leader here at Vecta House.

I started work at Vecta in June 2018 as part of the housekeeping team. I have worked as part of Activities Team for over a year and have grown very passionate in ensuring our residents have stimulating, life enriching activities available every day. I feel proud knowing I have brought smiles and laughter to our residents and love working with the great team we have here at Vecta House.

Donkey Afternoon

Donkey Afternoon

We were visited by Bella from the local donkey sanctuary in early August. Residents enjoyed making a fuss of Bella in the garden, and some of the less mobile residents were also visited in their rooms by her.

,

Pony Visit

We were recently visited by some ponies and staff and residents really took a shine to them.

Our Sensory Garden

This is Vecta House's new sensory garden, which was designed by Matt Mitchell. It will be enjoyed plenty by residents and loved ones.

Summer Garden Party

At Vecta House, we held our annual Summer Garden Party on Friday 21st July, where family and friends came together to enjoy entertainment in the sunshine. We enjoyed entertainment from Crackers the clown, Unity Stompers (jazz band), illusionist, Aaron Isted, Isle of Wight Candy Carts and homemade pizza by Vaughan Collins. It was a great afternoon and we managed to raise £223.00.
