Vecta House Care Home
Vecta House Care Home in Isle of Wight
Vecta House Care Home provides 24-hour nursing care, alongside expert care for people living with dementia in our dedicated Memory Lane Community. Our highly skilled and dedicated team work hard to provide high quality, person-centred care, in a warm and friendly environment. In addition to long-term placements, we also offer respite and short-term stays, which can be pre-booked up to a year in advance.
At Vecta House, we appreciate that the challenges of living with dementia are formidable and manifest themselves uniquely for each individual. Our Memory Lane Community provides a stimulating and safe environment, where individuals are able to be themselves without judgement or constraint.
As with all Barchester care homes, our high standards are reflected throughout the home in the hospitality, food and activities we provide. The Isle of Wight offers a multitude of delightful activities to stimulate the mind, such as the Botanical Gardens, Freshwater Bay and the sweeping views of Brading Down. We also have regular visiting entertainers, offering chances to dance, sing along and have fun.
The home is situated on the eastern edge of Newport and can be found at the end of a quiet cul-de-sac in a residential area. Our enclosed gardens provide a peaceful landscaped environment to explore, which is both stimulating and relaxing for those who have chosen to live here.
Whoever you are, whatever your history, you will find a place where you can be yourself at Vecta House. We welcome visitors at any time, so please drop by for a cup of tea and a chat. We look forward to hearing from you!

Our Team
The dedicated and experienced team are passionate about providing quality care to each individual living at the home.

Nichola Shepherd
Hi, my name is Nichola and I am the General Manager here at Vecta House. Welcome to our website!
Before joining Barchester, I was General Manager of The Briars in Sandown, which was a specialised dementia care home. I managed 3 other care homes before joining Vecta House.
I started my career in the care sector as an apprentice many years ago in 1989 and fell in love with helping people. I am passionate about delivering excellent dementia care and working closely with my staff to develop an outstanding team.
I was nominated by my previous staff team and healthcare professionals for 'Isle of Wight Manager of the Year', which I also won.
I am very proud to have managed to make a difference to peoples' lives.
