Our activities team are great at building the activities programme around the likes and interests of the people we care for. Ensuring that our social events offer fun and adventure is part of the ethos of our home; it’s important that those we support can enjoy an active and social lifestyle. Of course, there will always be those who prefer peace and quiet, and in these instances, a cup of tea and a chat are always welcomed.

Hello, My name is Tanya and I am the Lifestyle Leader here at Vecta House.
I started work at Vecta in June 2018 as part of the housekeeping team. I have worked as part of Activities Team for over a year and have grown very passionate in ensuring our residents have stimulating, life enriching activities available every day. I feel proud knowing I have brought smiles and laughter to our residents and love working with the great team we have here at Vecta House.

This week we went to France and enjoyed some good music and good food!
Divisional Learner of the Year
Congratulations to Lucy Beckett, who has been named as a Divisional Winner in the 2020 Barchester Care Awards. Lucy is a finalist in the Learner of the Year category and has been invited to attend a virtual awards ceremony on 8th October, where she will find out if she has won overall.
Community Appeciaton
We have received lots of cakes and doughnuts from the community over the past few weeks as a token of appeciation for our team's hard work during the coronavirus pandemic.
World Chocolate Day
We all enjoyed World Chocolate Day. We made some chocolate cakes then enjoyed eating them.
Supporting the Donkey Sanctuary with carrots and £150!
Staff at Vecta House have been raising money for the Isle of Wight Donkey Sanctuary, who had to close their gates in March because of Corvid 19.
The fundraising was sponsored by donations from members of staff and Briddleform Farm, who kindly donate a lovely food hamper and a £20 voucher for the raffle.
Nichola Shepherd, General Manager at Vecta House Nursing Home, said: “We are very lucky to have everyone at the home who have been behind us all the way. It’s for such an important cause. I’m very glad to be able to do my bit to raise further awareness and money for the charity.”
The relatives and staff have been very supported by buying raffle tickets and donating items for the staff. Vecta House has raised a grand total of £150 which has been donated to the Donkey Sanctuary along with lot of items that we have collected for the staff, toiletries and chocolates, and we also bought a sack of carrots for the donkey to enjoy! The Donkey Sanctuary has put an Amazon Wish List on their website to encourage people to buy things listed on the Amazon Wish List for the donkeys.
National Beer Day
Residents enjoyed some nice cool beers in recognition of International Beer Day.
