Activities at Rothsay Grange Care Home

The activities coordinators at Rothsay Grange work 7 days a week to ensure there is a variety of planned group and one to one activities to suit all individual needs. The activities consist of weekly running activities such as chair zumba, Music therapy, an Arts club and many more. We also run a weekly minibus trip to local places of interest giving everyone a chance to have a trip out of the home.

Rothsay Grange also knows how to have a good old tea party alongside some fantastic entertainers and productions that visit the home on a regular basis. Irene and Aimee feel its very important to have the residents that live here to have a fun and fulfilled life and encourage them to attend as many activities as they wish.

Irene & Leah

Activities Coordinators

Irene and Leah have been working together since 2019, and thoroughly enjoy planning and providing activities for our residents. They are a great team and always bring joy and fun to wherever they are in the home.

Leah has worked at Rothsay since she was 16, as an apprentice carer, and has worked her way into a position that she loves.

Irene has many years’ experience in working with vulnerable adults and children, and also started working here as a care assistant several years ago, before moving on to senior carer and then into the activities coordinator role.

Both love seeing the way that residents' lives are enriched with the activities they provide, and love interacting with all the residents in our care.

Knit & Knatter Group

Knit and Katter is a great group where everyone comes along for a good ol' gossip. Willow the dog comes along for cuddles and occasionally gets into mischief, as you can see from the picture.

Summer Fête

Rothsay Grange held its 4th annual Summer Fête on Saturday 15th July. We had a full afternoon of local stall holders attending to sell their goods. We had a tombola, a jam packed raffle with lots of lovely prizes donated from local businesses, games and competitions.

Tea, coffee and a selection of tasty cakes, along with deliciously barbecued foods, were served whilst a fantastic singer, Evie Armour, belted out lots of great hits.

We had a special visit from Mayor of Test Valley, who opened the fête at 2:00 p.m. The rain held off and even the ice cream man dropped in; the fête was well received and enjoyed by all, and we managed to raise a total of £444.94. Thank you to everyone who made this possible!

Care Home Open Day

We hosted our Open Day on Saturday 17th June. We had a jam packed afternoon with a visit from K and H Falconry, who showcased their beautiful owls. Residents got to learn about the birds, as well as touch and hold them.

This was followed with a delicious afternoon tea and some fantastic entertainment from a local singer, Vicki Parkinson. Our special guest for the afternoon was the Mayor of Test Valley, Cllr Carl Borg-Neal. He spent his time here chatting to residents and visitors at the home.
