Activities at Rothsay Grange Care Home

The activities coordinators at Rothsay Grange work 7 days a week to ensure there is a variety of planned group and one to one activities to suit all individual needs. The activities consist of weekly running activities such as chair zumba, Music therapy, an Arts club and many more. We also run a weekly minibus trip to local places of interest giving everyone a chance to have a trip out of the home.

Rothsay Grange also knows how to have a good old tea party alongside some fantastic entertainers and productions that visit the home on a regular basis. Irene and Aimee feel its very important to have the residents that live here to have a fun and fulfilled life and encourage them to attend as many activities as they wish.

Irene & Leah

Activities Coordinators

Irene and Leah have been working together since 2019, and thoroughly enjoy planning and providing activities for our residents. They are a great team and always bring joy and fun to wherever they are in the home.

Leah has worked at Rothsay since she was 16, as an apprentice carer, and has worked her way into a position that she loves.

Irene has many years’ experience in working with vulnerable adults and children, and also started working here as a care assistant several years ago, before moving on to senior carer and then into the activities coordinator role.

Both love seeing the way that residents' lives are enriched with the activities they provide, and love interacting with all the residents in our care.

Life at Rothsay Grange Care Home

,

What's in the local news?

Every Friday, we have a gathering of residents who enjoy going through the Andover Advertiser, our local newspaper. Barbara, a resident, reads articles from the paper for the others to discuss in a group over a steaming hot cuppa.

Baking Club

One of our baking clubs involved picking apples and blackberries from the bushes and trees on our grounds. Once we collected the fruits, we prepared them to make a delicious crumble. Residents who participated in this activity very much enjoyed the process, from collecting to the tasting.

,

George & Ginger

On Wednesday 27th September, residents of Rothsay Grange were joined by the dynamic duo, George and Ginger, as they performed a selection of songs that got the whole room involved in singing and dancing along! Residents of Rothsay are really looking forward to having them back again very soon.

,

Talent Show

Tuesday 26th September was an opportunity for residents, staff members and friends of Rothsay Grange to showcase their artistic talents, hosted by our Activities Coordinators, Aimee and Irene.

The afternoon was a celebration of how art can influence and bring people together.

Don't Dine Alone

Don't Dine Alone

Rothsay Grange opened its doors to a number of people from the community to help tackle loneliness. They invited anyone who would usually dine alone to join them for a meal.

Diners were treated to a tasty lunch in the home’s dining room. Guests had a chance to chat to staff and residents while enjoying their food. The guests came from Andover’s Copper Beech Day Centre; the group call themselves 'The Recycled Wrinklies' and, after dinner, some of the them joined in with the home's afternoon activity.

Family BBQ

Here at Rothsay Grange, we arranged a family BBQ for residents, families members and staff of the home on Saturday 2nd September. This was a huge success and everyone really enjoyed the afternoon out in the sunshine. Residents and their families really liked mingling with everyone who visited the home on this occasion.
