Activities at Rothsay Grange Care Home

The activities coordinators at Rothsay Grange work 7 days a week to ensure there is a variety of planned group and one to one activities to suit all individual needs. The activities consist of weekly running activities such as chair zumba, Music therapy, an Arts club and many more. We also run a weekly minibus trip to local places of interest giving everyone a chance to have a trip out of the home.

Rothsay Grange also knows how to have a good old tea party alongside some fantastic entertainers and productions that visit the home on a regular basis. Irene and Aimee feel its very important to have the residents that live here to have a fun and fulfilled life and encourage them to attend as many activities as they wish.

Irene & Leah

Activities Coordinators

Irene and Leah have been working together since 2019, and thoroughly enjoy planning and providing activities for our residents. They are a great team and always bring joy and fun to wherever they are in the home.

Leah has worked at Rothsay since she was 16, as an apprentice carer, and has worked her way into a position that she loves.

Irene has many years’ experience in working with vulnerable adults and children, and also started working here as a care assistant several years ago, before moving on to senior carer and then into the activities coordinator role.

Both love seeing the way that residents' lives are enriched with the activities they provide, and love interacting with all the residents in our care.

Life at Rothsay Grange Care Home

We Believe in Hugh Dent!

We Believe in Hugh Dent!

Hugh Dent was a new act for us at Rothsay Grange; he came with his guitar and a bag full of various instruments to get everyone involved. Hugh sang an array of songs that all the residents knew and sang along to.

Bread Making

Bread Making

We made bread the good old fashioned way during one of our baking clubs, hand kneading and creating delicious buns and plaits to be baked in our oven on the unit, so we could get that gorgeous smell of bread baking. Once the bread was finished, we had decided to save it to have with our soup at lunch, so with the butter spread evenly, it was very tasty with the homemade soup.

Andover Brownie Pack

On the evening of Monday 2nd October, Rothsay Grange residents welcomed the Clatford Brownie Pack into the home for a lovely evening show of their talents.

We had an array of talent throughout the pack, including singers, dancers and magicians. The brownies enjoyed chatting to residents whilst they gifted everyone with a potted plant they had decorated prior to the event.

Some residents told tales of when they were in the brownies and girl guides; they were amazed at how the uniforms had changed and seeing all the different badges the girls had received.

Betsy Entertains

Betsy Entertains

Betsy Schrader entertained residents once again with her fabulous show, ‘Meet Me at the Jukebox’. She fascinates residents with her costume changes and endless knowledge of past and present celebrity entertainers.

Flower Arranging

One of our monthly activities is flower arranging, where residents get the opportunity to create beautiful displays for the home.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

On Friday 29th September, Rothsay Grange held their Macmillan Coffee Morning, and residents, staff and visitors came together for coffee and cakes.

We had a lovely selection of cakes available that were donated by staff members, and some homemade cakes made by the kitchen team at Rothsay Grange – they all looked delicious.

We raised a total of £51.48 and would like to thank everyone who joined us for the morning.
