Flowerdown Care Home
Flowerdown Care Home in Winchester
Flowerdown Care Home is positioned just two miles north of the historic city of Winchester in Harestock. There is easy access to the city centre where you’ll find the cathedral, shops, restaurants, and the train station. We offer high quality nursing care and respite care in a warm and friendly environment.
Our bedrooms are set across two floors, and each floor has its own lounge and dining area, and there’s also a garden room on the ground floor, meaning peace and tranquillity is never far away. We have a lovely garden, designed with our residents in mind. The accessible pathways, seating areas, pond and raised flowerbeds make the garden a great place to relax and spend time with visitors.
When you arrive at Flowerdown, we’ll sit down together to understand you, your life story and your needs. This includes any objectives you have, or specific health concerns. We’ll then create a personal care plan together with you, your relatives and our carers.
Our staff are a diverse group, from different backgrounds and with different roles, but we all have something fundamental in common – every single one of us is passionate about care.
Activities vary each week: from crafts and gardening, to animal visits and games on the Nintendo Wii. And everything’s flexible – if it’s sunny we try and get outside, so everyone can appreciate the best of the day.
We can offer dining on each floor and meals are prepared by our chef at the home. Our dining room always becomes a hub of conversation and laughter, and mealtimes give even our more frail residents a chance to come together and socialise, whether it’s Fish Friday or tea and cakes in the garden.
