Meet the Rothsay Grange Care Home team
Our wonderful team comprises nurses, carers, activities coordinators, chefs, housekeepers and more. These people are here to ensure that residents enjoy their time at the home and are supported to live life to the fullest. Meet some of our staff below:
My name is Jessica and I am the General Manager here at Rothsay Grange. Welcome to our website!
I am a registered mental health nurse and have varied experience within mental health settings. Before I qualified, I worked within an elderly care environment and have returned, as it is something I have always enjoyed.
My aim is to create a safe and homely setting for all residents within the home and to promote high quality care.
I joined Rothsay Grange in July 2013 as a Carer, and worked my way up to the role of Senior Carer. I then decided to join the activities team in October 2015, where I get the pleasure of seeing residents enjoy the activities I provide for them.
My name is Leah and I am an Activities Coordinator here at Rothsay Grange. I joined the team back in July last year and I am working towards gaining my NAPA Level 2. I really enjoy organising activities with the residents and helping them to enjoy life.
I've worked at Rothsay Grange since 2012, starting as an Activities Coordinator before moving into an administration role in January 2018. I really enjoy the variety that this position brings daily and meeting residents and their loved ones.
Siska Redman FH, MTA
I am the Music Therapist here at Rothsay Grange and West Abbey Care Home.
After graduating from the prestigious, four-year Heidelberg Music Therapy course, I worked in Germany, Switzerland and Canada before settling down with my family in Somerset.
I bring excellence from leading European clinics for neurology and psychosomatics, in addition to a wealth of knowledge on special education.
I am passionate about delivering music therapy, which is fun and empowering. I seek to open up a creative “headspace” for Barchester residents and staff, and focus on creating and encouraging an atmosphere of warmth and acceptance. Through music, I strive to increase the quality of life in the homes where I work.
I also supervise postgraduate students studying music therapy in the UK who are on placement. Residents enjoy the variety of musicianship the volunteers bring and share.
I joined Rothsay Grange as the Second Chef before being promoted to Head Chef in 2018. I have many years’ experience running a kitchen, and have managed several pubs and restaurants throughout my life. I love to work with the older community, and being able to provide them with great food is a wonderful experience for me.
I have worked here since 2013, starting out as a Kitchen Assistant, then moving to the maintenance team as an assistant, before getting promoted to the Maintenance Manager position. I enjoy maintaining the upkeep of the home, both inside and out. I’m always keen to get the jobs completed quickly and to a high standard.
I have lots of experience in housekeeping and, since joining, have made a massive difference to the home. Myself and my team strive to keep the home looking beautiful and clean.
