Activities at Rothsay Grange Care Home

The activities coordinators at Rothsay Grange work 7 days a week to ensure there is a variety of planned group and one to one activities to suit all individual needs. The activities consist of weekly running activities such as chair zumba, Music therapy, an Arts club and many more. We also run a weekly minibus trip to local places of interest giving everyone a chance to have a trip out of the home.

Rothsay Grange also knows how to have a good old tea party alongside some fantastic entertainers and productions that visit the home on a regular basis. Irene and Aimee feel its very important to have the residents that live here to have a fun and fulfilled life and encourage them to attend as many activities as they wish.

Irene & Leah

Activities Coordinators

Irene and Leah have been working together since 2019, and thoroughly enjoy planning and providing activities for our residents. They are a great team and always bring joy and fun to wherever they are in the home.

Leah has worked at Rothsay since she was 16, as an apprentice carer, and has worked her way into a position that she loves.

Irene has many years’ experience in working with vulnerable adults and children, and also started working here as a care assistant several years ago, before moving on to senior carer and then into the activities coordinator role.

Both love seeing the way that residents' lives are enriched with the activities they provide, and love interacting with all the residents in our care.

Cosmic Sparkle

We welcomed back the fantastic Cosmic Sparkle to Rothsay Grange. Robyn has a fabulous aura and it definitely shows in her performance, ensuring that all who attend are ready to party by the end of it! She sings a wide selection of songs from different genres, including country, swing, rock & roll, ballads and more, so there’s always something for everyone.

Welcome to our New Maintenance Team

Welcome to our New Maintenance Team

We have a new maintenance team here at Rothsay Grange: Ben, who has recently taken up the position of Maintenance Manager, and Callum, who has been employed as the Maintenance Assistant.

They have been super busy with all the odd jobs in and out of the home, getting things looking brand new. They seem to work as a great team and always have a smile on their faces. No job is too big or too small for our wonderful maintenance team.

Live Entertainment

Amanda Parsons is our care home's newest act and she has wowed us with her unique ways; she has a quirky singing voice that takes you back to the '40s '50s and '60s. Amanda interacted well with all the residents that came along to the afternoon entertainment and didn’t miss anyone out. Residents were encouraged to join in with singing and dancing. We look forward to welcoming her back in the near future.

A Judy Garland Show from Betsy

Rothsay Grange had a fantastic afternoon of entertainment from Betsy Schrader with her Judy Garland show ‘Red slippers to riches’. The show consisted of some of her most classic songs such as ‘over the rainbow’ ‘when your smiling’ and ‘we’re off to see the wizard’.  Betsy did three costume changes during her set which kept the residents intrigued as to what she would be wearing each time she disappeared behind the screen.  All residents were included in the show and some were even serenaded during the performance. Residents of the home were singing, clapping and toe tapping along all afternoon.

Queens Birthday Party

Friday 21st April we celebrated the Queens official birthday with a party. We had entertainment from Chico who told us small details all about the singers and then played the songs. Residents and family’s enjoyed the afternoon singing along with well-known songs from the past. The Queen’s birthday cake was not only beautiful to look at but was very yummy as you can see from the photo it was a shame to have to cut it up but well worth it. We rounded up the afternoon with 2 songs everyone knew singing happy birthday and the national anthem.
