Activities at Marnel Lodge Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Mosaic of Marnel's Memories

Our residents and team created this beautiful mosaic: a picture of our family home, which is made of hundreds of photographs, representing all those special and precious moments we all experienced.

Easter Fayre

Despite difficulties associated with COVID-19, our wonderful team made every possible effort to ensure our Easter celebration was not affected.

Residents had lots of fun making Easter bonnets and traditional cakes, as well as celebrating Easter Sunday.

Despite the difficult current situation, our team believes that the celebration of special traditional occurrences is as important for our Marnel family as adhering to governmental guidance.

Mother's Day

This year this very special day was different; due to national restrictions caused by COVID-19, our proactive team used technology such as Skype, FaceTime and phones so our lovely residents were able to communicate with their close relatives and friends. Lots of flowers and cards were received, which were disinfected before being delivered to residents. Our team made everything possible to ensure that such a special day was celebrated well.

Spread the Joy

Our lovely neighbours are sending rainbows of solidarity to our residents in this difficult time of COVID-19. Our lovely community sending also cards for our residents and team to keep spirits up.

St Patrick's Day

Our lovely residents celebrated St Patrick’s Day recently. There was lots of traditional Irish music and dancing, of course. It was great fun for all!

Out & About

Our lovely residents spontaneously said last week that they wanted to go for a drive, so we said, "let's do it." It was calm and refreshing—a wonderful time!
