Activities at Marnel Lodge Care Home
Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.
Marek Manteufel & Theresa Connor
We both joined Marnel a while ago and we are very excited to be part of such a proactive and dedicated team. There are lots of ideas and innovations, all to enhance quality of life of our residents. Every day is different and to understand the needs of our residents, building relationship with them and keeping in touch with their families and friends, is the most important and rewarding job we could have wish for.

Life at Marnel Lodge Care Home
Time for a Cuppa
We made lots of cakes and were joined by loves ones and members of the local community, who all helped us to raise £104.35 for Dementia UK.
Fashion Fun
We hosted a fashion show recently; residents, volunteers and staff all joined together to enjoy the event. Outfits from wedding seemed to be the theme of the day.
National Real Bread Week
Oh what fun we had making bread at Marnel Lodge. We prepared all sorts of bread and loved getting messy whilst doing it. Afterwards, residents had even more fun eating their creations.
In the Mood for Dancing
Marnel Lodge volunteers and friends did some line dancing, which everyone enjoyed very much!
Animal Therapy
On a lovely sunny February day, we were visited by some petting animals, and residents loved making a big fuss of them!
Sensory Artwork
Daniel Mildenhall, our Maintenance Assistant, has painted a lovely Muriel pf a garden for our new sensory room, which will be opening in 2019.
