Activities at Latimer Court Care Home
Here at Latimer Court, we have a varied social programme that includes themed events once a month, painting classes, day trips out, exercise classes and arts & crafts, to name but a few. We strive to tailor our activities to suit everyone's needs, and update our notice boards weekly so that all families and visitors can see what their loved ones have been up to. Our aim is to make sure that those we support can enjoy a happy and fulfilled stay with us. You can take a look at some of our regular activities by clicking here.
Dan Taylor-Edwards
I'm Dan and I'm the Activities Coordinator here at Latimer Court. I joined the team in 2022. I have worked in care for many years as a carer and activities roles, and absolutely love my role here. I love working with the elderly and have a real passion to enrich every day and make their lives as special as they can be.
I have many ideas for group activities and events as well as for individual interactions, and love seeing these ideas coming to life and the difference it makes to each resident's day!

As part of our bespoke life-enrichment programmes, we host a number of live virtual events in the home on a regular basis through a number of partnerships with places of interest and world class performance companies
Life at Latimer Court Care Home
Exotic Fruit Tasting
On Tuesday 29th August, residents enjoyed trying a mixture of tropical fruits. Some of these were familiar, some were not and were met with curiosity! The platters contained melon, pineapple, blueberries, fresh coconut, mango, dates, cape gooseberries, pomegranate, passion fruit and lychees. The dates and mango were definitely the favourites! This is the first of many food and drink tasting sessions for residents to enjoy.
Cheese & Wine Party
Latimer Court hosted an elegant cheese and wine afternoon to welcome the local community into our lovely home.
There were a large range of wines made available to all and the selection of local cheeses was phenomenal; these included Worcestershire cheese with honey and figs, cheddar with apple, brie and stilton, just to name a few.
Live classical music was performed by the King and Rackham duo on the piano and violin as our guests were served their delicious refreshments.
The atmosphere was fantastic and we made some lovely new friends from the local community who will be back to attend our home's events in the near future.
Employee of the Month - July
Richard was nominated for his cheerful commitment to supporting residents and the home and having a ‘nothing is too much trouble’ attitude.
Visit to the beautiful Confetti Fields
Acres of delphiniums and cornflowers bloom on the Wyke Manor Estate Farm in Worcestershire every July. It is a spectacular sight and a wonderful experience to wander in amongst the flowers!
2017 is their 20th year of growing confetti petals and to celebrate this anniversary they planted another Union Jack flower flag!
Alongside the Flag there are beautiful stripes of colourful flowers, winding paths, walkways and lovely views to Bredon Hill and the surrounding countryside. Residents enjoyed the scenery, soaked up the colours, and went to The Confetti Café in the flower field where they enjoyed tea, coffee and delicious cakes!
Encourage Activity
Encourage Activity visits the home each Friday to facilitate regular activities that help stimulate physical, social and psychological well-being.
Gardening Club
The Gardening Club meets every Thursday morning to attend to all aspects of horticulture around the home. Most recently, the focus was on creating hanging baskets to display within the grounds.

Monthly Dementia Cafe
Join us for our dementia cafe, enjoy cakes, refreshments, activities & a warm welcome. Family / carers come along too, make new friends in a safe space.
Dementia Friendly Film Club
Join us for our dementia friendly film mornings. Relax in our cinema room, enjoy a classic movie & delicious refreshments. Booking essential please on 01905 363270.
