Activities at Latimer Court Care Home

Here at Latimer Court, we have a varied social programme that includes themed events once a month, painting classes, day trips out, exercise classes and arts & crafts, to name but a few. We strive to tailor our activities to suit everyone's needs, and update our notice boards weekly so that all families and visitors can see what their loved ones have been up to. Our aim is to make sure that those we support can enjoy a happy and fulfilled stay with us. You can take a look at some of our regular activities by clicking here.

Dan Taylor-Edwards

Activities Coordinator & Dementia Champion

I'm Dan and I'm the Activities Coordinator here at Latimer Court. I joined the team in 2022. I have worked in care for many years as a carer and activities roles, and absolutely love my role here. I love working with the elderly and have a real passion to enrich every day and make their lives as special as they can be.

I have many ideas for group activities and events as well as for individual interactions, and love seeing these ideas coming to life and the difference it makes to each resident's day!

Egg Hunt with Debutots Worcestershire!

Thank you so much to Kirsten at Debutots Worcestershire for the delicious Easter eggs our residents received this morning from the children at Nunnery Wood Preschool!

We had a fabulous time with the Easter Bunny and the children enjoyed finding lots of delicious eggs at the Easter Egg hunt. We all had such a great time!

Nutrition & Hydration Week

Our residents and staff took part in this year’s Nutrition and Hydration Week.

Throughout the week, we focused on fun-filled educational activities on the value of food and drink in maintaining health and wellbeing, sensory and tasting sessions.

Members of our talented hospitality team prepared a delicious afternoon tea, with plenty of pots of tea, homemade scones with jam and cream, and also included some yummy homemade lemonade!

A fabulous time was had by all.

Ready, Set, Race for the Cheltenham Gold Cup

We had our very own Gold Cup Race in honour of the well-known Cheltenham Gold Cup, to raise money for Comic Relief this year.

Some of our wonderful team dressed up as their own horses and jockeys to compete in their own 3 races! All together there were 7 horses, who ran a route around our home and gardens to get their heart rate up and see who was the fastest! Residents each placed a bet on who would win the final race, the almighty Gold Cup and horse ‘Del Boy Trotter’ won all 3 races!

We had such a great time and loved supporting such a good cause!

Exercise with Gina

We always enjoy having Gina in from G-fitness for our monthly exercise session! Once a month, Gina comes in with some tools and techniques to get our bodies moving, whcih our residents absolutely love. There's chance for them to stretch their legs to strengthen their muscles, and move their arms to get that boxing skill up!

Keeping active is always good for the mind and the body and is something our residents love… they always look forward to the little sing-a-long and cup of tea afterwards too, of course!

Mother's Day

Happy Mother’s Day!

We had a lovely day as we celebrated Mother’s Day. We made it a fun-filled day with flowers, cake and music all round. Our Activities Co-ordinator, Dan, did an amazing job delivering home-made daffodil bouquets to every lady in the home as that special touch from all of the Latimer Court team.

In the afternoon we treated everybody to a lovely afternoon high tea, complete with sandwiches and scones of course, and entertainment from the amazing singer Jack that we all loved.

A great day and thank you for everyone that came in and celebrated with us!

Real Bread Week

We marked the annual, international celebration of real bread and the people who make it.

Over the course of the week, overseen by our Chef Jonathan, we kneaded, proven and baked a selection of different breads from granary loaves and floury batches to breadsticks.

Apart from tasting the delicious breads, our residents learnt interesting facts about the history of bread and watched videos about the magic of bread making.

We all had a wonderful time!
