A luxury care home in a tranquil Gloucestershire village setting, Tewkesbury Fields is a delightful residence, which provides the comforts of home with 24-hour residential and nursing support for older people. We also offer respite services for those who require a shorter stay.

Dementia Care

Tewkesbury Fields has a dedicated Memory Lane Community that provides a safe, homely environment for people living with dementia, which has been designed following these guidelines ensuring the care we provide supports residents’ freedom of choice. We aim to maintain their life-skills, improving their self-esteem and helping them to maintain and develop their independence while they are living with us.

Staff undertake specialist dementia care training developed by our team of Dementia Care Specialists and academic partners, the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University. Together they ensure our training programmes are informed by the very latest thinking. We ensure that the people we support feel comfortable and safe in their surrounding environment, helping ensure they live life with dementia to the full.

Choosing a care home for a loved one or friend who may be experiencing dementia can be difficult and we have created a guide to showcase how we ‘Enrich the lives of people living with dementia’ in our care home.

Our bedrooms are all furnished to a very high standard. With all accommodation on ground floor level, it’s easy for residents to move from one part of the home to another. We also have two communal lounges and three dining rooms, as well as four acres of beautifully landscaped grounds that includes a duck pond, a grazing field and a pagoda.

The activities team consults with residents and their families to plan regular events in home and trips out in the local community to ensure that those we support can live their lives to the fullest.

Meals are prepared on-site by trained chefs, who offer residents a varied daily menu of tasty, nutritious food. Special dietary requirements and personal preferences are always taking into consideration.

Essential to our homely feel is the enhanced relationship of trust we build with family, friends and residents living in this community.

Hi, my name is Lorraine, and I am the General Manager here at Tewkesbury Fields. Welcome to our website!

I have been privileged to work across the care sector with older people and adults with learning disabilities. I have worked in quality and compliance roles, as well as in management. I qualified as a nurse in 1998.

My ultimate goal has always been, and always will be, to enhance and enrich the lives of those we have been trusted to care for and support. I’m a nurse by background, and like most nurses, I started my journey in the NHS. I joined Barchester because I believe very much in, 'Celebrating Life'. I live this core value in every aspect of my life and work. 

I am dedicated to putting our residents at the heart of everything we do. It is important help people live a life that is meaningful to them. I am excited to help our residents achieve this. 

My experience in quality and compliance work means I am always keen to achieve & improve the highest standards of care. I am a great believer in consulting our residents so that their experience with us can be the best.
