Activities at Latimer Court Care Home
Here at Latimer Court, we have a varied social programme that includes themed events once a month, painting classes, day trips out, exercise classes and arts & crafts, to name but a few. We strive to tailor our activities to suit everyone's needs, and update our notice boards weekly so that all families and visitors can see what their loved ones have been up to. Our aim is to make sure that those we support can enjoy a happy and fulfilled stay with us. You can take a look at some of our regular activities by clicking here.
Dan Taylor-Edwards
I'm Dan and I'm the Activities Coordinator here at Latimer Court. I joined the team in 2022. I have worked in care for many years as a carer and activities roles, and absolutely love my role here. I love working with the elderly and have a real passion to enrich every day and make their lives as special as they can be.
I have many ideas for group activities and events as well as for individual interactions, and love seeing these ideas coming to life and the difference it makes to each resident's day!
Read our brochure 'Life-enriching activities' for more information about life in our care homes.

Life at Latimer Court Care Home
St David's Day Craft Session
We were in high spirits as we celebrated the national day of Wales by making and crafting a daffodil display and arranging daffodils for around our home. It looks so colourful and really feels like Spring now.
National Nest Box Week
In our gardening club we have been busy preparing for National Nest Box week by decorating bird boxes for our lovely garden. We are super excited to see our first birds using them.
Arts Sessions a Great Success
We enjoyed a creative if a little messy time celebrating the birthday of the celebrated abstract expressionist painter, Jackson Pollack. He is most famous for his distinctive style of dripping, pouring & spraying paint to create his distinctive artworks.
Burns Night Celebrations
We planned a variety of Burns night activities. We all enjoyed musical entertainment with a variety of traditional Scottish songs and poems. Residents took part in whiskey tasting & were served traditional haggis with 'neeps and tatties'.
Knit & Natter Social
Our residents love to get together for their weekly knitting group. Whether it’s to sit and have a chat or get involved in the latest knitting project it’s always an enjoyable afternoon...good friends, great chat and a cuppa, what's not to love!
Donation for Hospice
Well done & thank you to everyone who supported our Christmas raffle in aid of St Richards Hospice, we raised a super £147. The Hospice are amazing which is why we have chosen them as our charity of the year for 2022.
