Activities at Lancaster Grange Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Life at Lancaster Grange Care Home

Cruising with Unilever

We had a lovely time joining Paul Hawkins and Lisa Richards from Unilever for an exciting Virtual Cruise experience.

Our residents were welcomed with mocktails as Lisa and Paul took them on a magical journey to 3 mystery destinations, which were uncovered after a few clues.

Paul demonstrated how to create a few of the local traditional dishes, which our residents had the opportunity to try too.

The event evoked lots of great memories and it was truly enjoyed by all.

When I'm cleaning windows!

This morning at Lancaster Grange we had a fantastic performance from Northeast Producers Ltd “when I’m cleaning windows”. We sang a range of songs and enjoyed a wonderful morning following the story of Jim the Squeeze and Jack the Lad.

Lots of happy and Excitable residents Songs of reminiscence with a personal meaning - a lovely fun and heart-warming morning enjoyed by all. Looking forward to our Christmas panto.

Alpacas

Our Lancaster Grange residents had the pleasure of welcoming Teal and Bellamy into our glorious gardens this morning along with their owners Jess and her Father from J and J Alpacas - The Alpaca Centre & Coffee Shop a local family run business.

Both Alpacas we’re born on the same day and are 4 years old. Our Residents enjoyed the talk Jess gave us it was all about the origin, keeping and farming of Alpacas.

Jess and her family have been farming Alpacas for 16 years, starting at 4, and today they have 101 on their farm.

In total 19 babies were born this year. The Alpacas were gentle, calming and inquisitive, this was wonderful experience for our residents also for our residents who chose to stay in their rooms-  we made surprise visits at their windows

Last night of the Proms

We celebrated Last Night of the Proms virtually with members of English National Ballet’s Philharmonic Orchestra, led by Music Director Gavin Sutherland.

We listened and danced along as members of the orchestra took us on a magical, musical journey. English National Ballet Philharmonic is made up of many of the country’s top musicians, and boasts considerable experience in all forms of music-making. With insights and anecdotes into what it takes to conduct an orchestra for a world-class ballet company, this special concert got our feet tapping, arms waving and hearts singing!
