Newton House Care Home in Grantham

Located in Grantham, Newton House is a single storey, purpose-built home with extensive garden areas adorned with plants, fruits and vegetables. We are centrally situated for friends and relatives to visit, at any time of the day, and we believe you’ll find that we’re ideally suited to meet your needs. We provide high quality 24-hour nursing and residential care, alongside expert care for people living with dementia. We also offer respite care or short breaks, which can now pre-booked up to a year in advance.

Dementia Care

Additionally, Newton House has a dedicated Memory Lane Community that provides a safe, homely environment for people living with dementia, which has been designed following these guidelines ensuring the care we provide supports residents’ freedom of choice. We aim to maintain their life-skills, improving their self-esteem and helping them to maintain and develop their independence while they are living with us.

Staff undertake specialist dementia care training developed by our team of Dementia Care Specialists and academic partners, the Centre for Dementia Research at Leeds Beckett University. Together they ensure our training programmes are informed by the very latest thinking. We ensure that the people we support feel comfortable and safe in their surrounding environment, helping ensure they live life with dementia to the full.

Choosing a care home for a loved one or friend who may be experiencing dementia can be difficult and we have created a guide to showcase how we ‘Enrich the lives of people living with dementia’ in our care home.

Our team of highly qualified and attentive staff are committed to providing individualised care in a safe and comfortable environment. This dedication can be seen in all aspects of life within the home, including our cooking, hospitality and activities programme, which are all designed to meet the needs and interests of each resident.

Why not call in or arrange a visit to see all that we have to offer over a cup of tea? Looking for a care home can be a daunting process and we are keen to provide you with the help and support you need to guide you through this process. We hope to see you soon!

Types of care

Newton House has four communities in total, two of which cater for the needs of elderly frail people, and two for people living with dementia. We also support both nursing and residential residents. We tailor all care towards the individual needs of each person, putting residents at the centre of our care. Our aim is to maintain and encourage skills and we work with the philosophy of what the resident can do and support them in the areas of their life where they are experiencing difficulty.

In our Memory Lane communities, we hold the mentality that it is us who cannot understand what the resident is trying to communicate, and we believe that we have to find a way to change that. Our staff on Memory Lane have had specialised training to ensure that they can reduce the distress and frustration that a person living with dementia may experience on a regular basis. We also realise the stress that this can put on the family, so we aim to support loved ones through the dementia journey as well.
