Activities at Newton House Care Home
Our teams are trained to enrich the lives of residents through stimulating the mind, body and soul, and taking the time to learn about each person to ensure everyone receives support that adds enrichment to their life.
Our home is always full of life, and we can thank our wonderful Activities Coordinators for this. Dedication to creating a unique and interesting activities programme is what sets us apart from other homes. We always take into consideration that some people would prefer to pursue their own interests, which is why our team strive to incorporative activities that cater to a wide range of tastes and hobbies. Our trips out are always fun and exciting as well, and residents are guaranteed to return with stories to tell their loved ones!

Life at Newton House Care Home

VE Day Celebrations
Residents enjoyed many fun, exciting and meaningful activities at Newton House as we celebrated VE Day’s 80th Anniversary.
Welcoming local school children for a VE Day-themed art class, live musical entertainment and garden parties all proved to be a huge success.
It was wonderful listening to residents talking to the younger generation about their memories of the victorious day. The children listened in awe, and couldn’t believe some of the fascinating stories unfolding.

Pamper and relaxation evening
We welcomed the wonderful Tracy from Serenity and Balance for an Aromatherapy & Massage evening.
The beautiful ambience of aromatherapy oils filled the air, and it was wonderful to see both staff and residents join together for a positive wellbeing experience. Residents tucked into a selection of delicious cheese, wine and biscuits whilst enjoying each other’s company and conversation.
The ladies were delighted with relaxing hand and head massages, a perfect way to end a fabulous day.

Gentleman's Club Outing
With the sun shining, it was the gentleman’s turn to venture out on the minibus for their weekly Gent’s club.
There were lots of chatter and giggles as we boarded the bus, with Albert demonstrating how his father would drive his car. It was wonderful hearing their fun stories as we headed off to the local village pub. After a lovely scenic drive, we reached our destination at the magnificent ‘Gregory Arms’ in Harlaxton.
The gents chose their drinks & snacks, and we had the most fabulous morning reminiscing about cars, motorbikes and working life.

VE Day
Welcoming this morning our fabulous friends from Poplar Farm School, for a fun VE Day art session, Koopa the tortoise visits & discussions between the students and our wonderful residents!

Residents stepped on board ‘Grantham Air’ as they travelled to beautiful Hawaii. After check-in, we were all aboard for the safety talk, followed by some tasty refreshments served by the ‘Grantham Air’ flight attendants.
Halfway through the flight, the duty-free trolley made its way down the aisle as residents and students listened to some summer-themed music.
