Life at Newton House Care Home
Visit to Wyndham
We are most definitely making the most of this beautiful weather, and todays first trip of the day was a lovely visit to Wyndham Park. Resident Pat said “it feels like we’ve been on a mini holiday” We enjoyed a lovely walk around, reminiscing about when they were children and visiting the park. Allen used to go swimming there when he was a young boy and Beryl’s father grew up in one of the lovely houses that backs onto the river. Along our way we, we met lots of lovely people, who were out either children and dogs. A delicious Ice cream and a go on the race boats, finished the trip of nicely
Trooping the Colours
Residents enjoyed starting the Platinum Jubilee, with the Trooping of colours – A nice relaxing morning, ready for the fun and celebrations to follow after lunch. Our royal celebrations started with a “beach themed” garden party, we are delighted to say that our Memory Lane garden, now has its very own beach! A wonderful afternoon of fun, hook a duck, swing ball ,bowling, music, dancing and delicious ice creams
What an incredible afternoon we had at Newton House, with our Jubilee Garden Party. It has been more than we could have hoped for, and it was amazing to be able to share it with so many families of our wonderful residents. We’ve had live music with the fabulous Dave Cox from Carehome entertainment, delicious homemade cakes by our wonderful kitchen team, bubbles, candy floss, dancing and an all-around amazing afternoon We also enjoyed a beautiful performance from our fabulous resident Mike, who sang a duet with Dave, singing “you’ll never walk alone”. There wasn’t a dry eye in sight! Absolutely amazing
Sweet Angels Visit
A huge thank you to Sweet Angels, for visiting our lovely home. Residents were thrilled to see the children’s little faces as soon as they walked through the door, and it wasn’t long before Joyce started singing to them. The children then sang one of their favourites song and everyone applauded them, it was just so beautiful and heartwarming to see. With fun and games outside, singalongs and chats, it proved to be a wonderful experience for both residents and the children. We are already looking forward to their next visit!
Wolfie and Baby Lacey Visit
Thank you so much to Leanne Bowers for arranging her wonderful mum Jane Price to bring in Wolfie and beautiful baby Lacey. This was a surprise for our lovely residents, and they were thrilled as soon as they saw them. Wolfie had lots of treats and showed what a clever boy he is with his giving of paws, and Lacey had lots of cuddles and enjoyed being sang too. A beautiful activity for them all.
Residents have enjoyed a special Easter Monday party today at Newton House. With live musical entertainment from the fabulous Dave Cox, delicious treats & refreshments, and a good old boogie! They definitely know how to party!
