Meet the Newton House Care Home Team

Our wonderful team comprises nurses, carers, activities coordinators, chefs, housekeepers and more. These people are here to ensure that residents enjoy their time at the home and are supported to live life to the fullest. Meet some of our staff below:

Sonia Fairhurst

General Manager

Hi, my name is Sonia, and I am the General Manager here at Newton House care home. Welcome to our website!

Thank you for taking the time to look further into what Newton House has to offer to you or your loved one. Here is an opportunity to look at some of our staff team in the home, who all play a vital role in day-to-day life.

I have worked for the healthcare sector for many years and bring a wealth of knowledge and experience to the home. I like to build strong working relations with the team and stakeholders involved.

Quality of care that all my residents receive is my passion and I aim to ensure that all the residents in my care receive the best and most person centred care possible.

Charlotte Yates

Deputy Manager

Charlotte is proud to hold the role as Deputy Manager at Newton House, she has been with the home since 2013. Starting as a newly qualified nurse and then becoming head of community on Castlegate before beginning her new role as Deputy Manager.

She speaks highly of the feeling of being part of a larger family in the home, embracing her colleagues, residents and family members. 

Charlotte's passion lies in Memory Lane and wanting to enrich the lives of those touched by dementia. 

Away from Newton House, Charlotte enjoys spending time with her family including her three daughters, two dogs, going for walks and enjoying reading and cooking.

Nimmy Mathew

Head of Community

I have worked with Barchester Healthcare since 2013. I have a great passion for delivering the highest standard of nursing care and I believe that high-quality nursing can lead to improved patient recovery.  I qualified in 1995 from the University of Karnadaka, India and served with various hospitals across India until 2000.  I came to the UK in 2004 and joined as a trainee nurse in Bognor Regis.  Having completed my nursing adaptation from the University of Portsmouth.

Margaret Campbell

Head of Community

Margaret has been a member of the Newton House family since 2009 and in that time she has been a much cherished nurse and the Head of Community on Brownlow. 

Margaret loves being a part of the Memory Lane Community and making a real difference in our residents lives, whilst supporting their families and loved ones. she finds her role at Newton House as being incredibly rewarding. 

In her spare time, Margaret enjoys yoga, going for walks, in particular at Belton House where she is a member of the National trust. Margaret loves to spend time with her family and her grown up children.

 

Sam

Head of Community

Sam has been a member of the Newton House family since 2016 and has worked in care for thirty years. she describes working on Memory Lane and wishing to better the lives of those touched by dementia as her calling. 

She loves spending time with and getting to know our residents, she enjoys being a part of such a friendly and supportive team of colleagues.

In her spare time Sam loves to Crochet, she has four children and plans on adding a puppy to her family in the near future.

Tina Biggins

Nurse

Tina has been a part of the Newton since 1993 and takes an immense sense of pride in her role. 

She loves being a part of the team in the home and helping our residents. 

In her spare time she enjoys being a local cubs and scouts leader 

Leanne Bowers

Team Leader

Leanne joined the Newton House family in 2020 and loves her role as Team Leader, she says that care is her life's calling and love's the spend time with the residents, getting to know them and listening to their experiences.

In her spare time Leanne enjoys spending time with her family and friends and indulging in retail therapy - shopping. 

Jess Critchlow

Home Administrator

I started here at Newton House in 2015 working as the receptionist at the home. I then worked my way up to Admin Assistant, then in Oct 2021 I got became the Home's Administrator.  Working here has been amazing and I love coming to work every day.

Karen Olivant

Lead Activities Coordinator

Karen has been a proud part of the Newton House family since 2017.

She loves to spend time with our residents and is very much a peoples person, taking great pride in making memories and sharing new experiences with them. 

In her spare time Karen loves going to watch Lincoln City FC, spending time with her family and Bruce the lovely pet dog. 

Debra Cope

Head Chef

Having been part of the staff team here at this fantastic home since 2003. I thrive on producing freshly prepared nutritious meals for our residents on a daily basis. Come and sample the menu on your next visit.

Doug Watson

Maintenance Manager

As Maintenance Manager at Newton House, i take full ownership to ensure the up keep of the home is always maintained and any potential areas of improvement are identified and rectified asap.

 

Kate Tabaka

Head of Housekeeping

I have worked at Newton House since 2012, and I love working here in such a wonderful environment.  I take pride in ensuring that my team and I keep Newton House clean and tidy at all times.

In my spare time I love spending time with my family and going on long walks.

Pat Plutecka

Senior Care Assistant

Pat has been a member of the team at Newton House since 2008 and makes up our team of Senior Carers. 

She is also proud to be our Dementia Champion. 

Pat loves spending time with our residents and enriching the lives of those who call Memory Lane their home. 

In her spare time she loves to draw, she is proud of her masters degree in Geology and she loves to travel. 

Alison Davitt

Care Assistant

Alison has been a part of the Newton House family since May 2022 and makes up our incredible team of carers. 

She speaks about how she loves to interact with the residents and their families and takes so much satisfaction from knowing she makes a difference. 

In her spare time, Alison is a huge fan of Pro-Bull riding, she is a Bi-Athlon fan and loves cycling. She has also travelled all over supporting her husband in cycling races, from the Swiss Alps to South Africa. 

Stacey Clay

Care Assistant, Reception

Stacey has been a part of the Newton House since 2008 and see's the home, residents and colleagues as been a family to her. 

In her time at Newton House Stacey is proud to have been a part of each department and very embraces the one team ethic. 

She enjoys spending time with our residents and says that her career in care makes her very happy. 

In her spare time, Stacey enjoys seeing her family and friends, she loves the theatre in particular watching musicals.

Tinashe

Care Assistant

Tinashe came to Newton House in the Spring of 2023 and is a much valued member of the wonderful team of carers at Newton House.

He enjoys giving our residents company and becoming a carer was personal to him due to family circumstances

Tinashe says that as a part of his culture it is a privilege to look after people.

He says he loves getting to know our residents and in his spare time he enjoys music, football and is a proud Manchester City fan.

Karolina Stimburyte

Care Assistant

Karolina has recently joined the Newton House family. She says that caring is her passion and she loves to spend time with the residents getting to know them and that being a care assistant has always been her dream job. 

Away from Newton House, Karolina is a proud Mum to two wonderful children. 

Kim Matthews Foster

Care Assistant

Kim has been a part of the Newton family since the spring of 2023. She brings with her 20 years of care experience and she takes great joy in enriching the lives of others. 

In her spare time she loves to spend time with her family and her two lovely dogs who she describes as her babies. 

Jill Bentley

Activities Coordinator

I've been a part of the team at Newton House since 2020. 

I love my role on activities and I feel passionate about making the residents smile. 

I love to socialise with my friends, I enjoy walking and listening to music. 

Sabrina Le-Good

Activities Coordinator

I have been a part of the team at Newton House since 2018, in that time I spent 3 years as a care assistant before moving on to activities for the last 2 years. 

My passion is bringing fun, joy and enriching our residents lives. 

In my spare time I love to read whilst listening to Taylor Swift - I am a huge 'Swiftie' and i can't wait to to go to her 'Era's Tour' next year.

Amanda Bellamy

Activities Coordinator

Amanda has been a proud member of the Newton House family since 2021. 

Previously a Senior Care Assistant, Amanda brings a wealth of knowledge to her role on Activities. 

She loves enriching the lives of our residents and says that the team and residents at Newton House are like a second family. 

In her spare time she enjoys spending time with her children and grand children and has a love of cooking. 

Elena

Elena is proud to be the second chef at Newton House and is an incredibly passionate cook. She has been a part of the Newton House family since 2005 and see's this as been a second home. 

She loves to cook for our residents and enjoys producing the highest quality of food for them. 

In her spare time she loves to still cook, travel and music; saying that music is good for the soul.

Malony

kitchen Assistant

Maloney has been a part of the Newton House family for since 2005. he loves to see our residents and takes pride in his doing his part to make their lives more fulfilling. 

He is a proud family man and in his spare time he enjoys playing basketball and having a keen interest in boxing. 

Colin Tempest

kitchen Assistant

Colin is a much valued member of our kitchen team and has been a part of the Newton family since 2001.

He takes great satisfaction from interacting with our residents.

In his spare time he enjoys playing games and spending time with his family. 

Susie Windsor

Housekeeper

Susie has been a much valued member of the Newton House family since 2021 and takes great pride in delivering excellent housekeeping for our residents and their loved ones. 

She loves spending time and interacting with our residents.

In her spare time, Susie loves to swim, having previously done this at a competitive level. 

Vicky Ward

Housekeeper

Vicky initially started at Newton House in 2011 before taking a break to start a family and returning to the home in 2017. 

She speaks highly of the homely feel at Newton House and the sense of family. 

Vicky loves to interact and speak with our residents. 

Away from the home she loves to spend time with her family, going for family walks and is also an avid gamer. 

Katrina Fox

Hairdresser

Katrina has been a much valued member of the Newton House family since 2017. 

She say's that she loves to make the residents feel special and enjoys pampering them, Katrina finds hairdressing highly rewarding and takes great pride in knowing that for a lot of our ladies, visiting the salon is the highlight of the week.

Away from Newton House, she loves spending time with her family and children, going on holidays, horse racing and the theatre

Newton House Activities Team

Amanda, Sabrina, Karen and Jill make up our fantastic Activities Team here at Newton House. They develop and oversee an active living programme for each resident, which encourages mobility, social contact, independence and fun. Each and every person can thrive and live to their full potential with no day ever being the same. They bring great enthusiasm and spark to Newton House and have one passion, which is to deliver an amazing and vibrant activities programme to cater to all tastes and abilities.
