Meet the Newton House Care Home team
Our wonderful team comprises nurses, carers, activities coordinators, chefs, housekeepers and more. These people are here to ensure that residents enjoy their time at the home and are supported to live life to the fullest. Meet some of our staff below:
I have been a RM Nurse, trained for over 13 years and I have worked in the care sector for over 16 years. My main drive for being a nurse is to support individuals with mental health issues. This progressed into supporting individuals with dementia and older persons care and I have never looked back. I have been a part of management for many years now and held the position of managing care services before my position at Newton House.
I love Newton House and being with the staff and residents and I am looking forward to the journey ahead. When I am not at Newton House I am spending time with my 2 dogs, Sewing or in my garden weather permitting!
Welcome to our website!
I qualified as a RMN in 1985 and then as a RGN in 1987. I have worked mainly for NHS mental health services, but in 1988, I transferred to Newton House as Head of Brownlow, which is the home's mental health community. I enjoy working with people with dementia and to try to keep up-to-date with current research in effort to improve the lives of those I support.
I have worked as a senior care assistant for 20 years, I came to Barchester in 2017 as a training care practitioner. I qualified in 2017 and worked on a memory lane unit here at Newton House. In 2020 I became head of Watergate and in 2021 I stepped up to be Acting Deputy Manager and continue to help support the home.
I want to encourage residents to be independent and to have fun.
I have a passion for a high standard of care and wellbeing in all aspects of their lives.
I have worked with Barchester Healthcare since 2013. I have a great passion for delivering the highest standard of nursing care and I believe that high-quality nursing can lead to improved patient recovery. Having completed my nursing adaptation from the University of Portsmouth.
As the activities team, we develop and oversee an active living programme for each resident, which encourages mobility, social contact, independence and fun. Each and every person can thrive and live to their full potential with no day ever being the same. We bring great enthusiasm and spark to Newton House and have one passion, which is to deliver an amazing and vibrant activities programme to cater to all tastes and abilities.
Having been part of the staff team here at this fantastic home for almost 20 year, I thrive on producing freshly prepared nutritious meals for our residents on a daily basis. Come and sample the menu on your next visit.
As Maintenance Manager at Newton House, i take full ownership to ensure the up keep of the home is always maintained and any potential areas of improvement are identified and rectified asap.
