Activities at Hurstwood View Care Home

Activities are the cornerstone of a wholesome home experience and our Activities Coordinators are always putting their creative minds to the test by organising new and exciting social events for residents to partake in. Of course, we take into account the likes and dislikes of those we support, so if someone doesn’t feel like trying something new, there will always be something on offer to reflect their personal interests. For the people who may just prefer some peace and quiet instead, we also offer one-to-one time that can be enjoyed with a nice cup of coffee or just a simple chat – whatever they desire.

Lisa Everson

Activities Coordinator & Speak Up Champion

I’m Lisa, Activities Coordinator here at Hurstwood View.

I’ve been working at Hurstwood View in varying departments since 2017, shortly after the birth of my second child. With a strong background in Marketing, events, and community engagement - Activities is a great fit for me! I love arranging events and making a difference to our residents’ day.  I’ve never danced so much since working here, no day is ever the same, and we really do have so much fun!

June Open Day

The sun shone to brighten our garden party for our June open day. Everyone enjoyed singing along to the wonderful talents of Laurie and enjoying a glass of Pimm's in the garden. We had a great reception and it was lovely to welcome some new faces into our home

Tea Tasting

Residents were keen to arouse their senses by smelling, tasting and studying the different teas before guessing the flavours. Not everyone was keen on the variety, so they ended up with a good ol' cup of Earl Grey.

Trip Out

Trip Out

The skies were grey, but the air was warm when we headed out to Birling Gap. We enjoyed some tea and cake in the stunning National Trust Café as well.

Royal Wedding Celebrations

Everyone got dressed in their best and joined us for a royal buffet reception whilst watching the service on the TV. Everyone received a personalised invite prior to the event and our catering team came up with an amazing cake on the day. Relatives, staff, family and friends all joined and waved our Union Flags for the newly married royal couple. We even had our own queen and some other members of the royal family join us for the occasion.
