"My mother was a resident of Memory Lane for the last two years of her life. The facilities are excellent - the rooms are large and bright and for the most part kept clean and tidy. The regular staff were wonderful and work well, although they often seemed to be too busy to spend enough time with the residents, but when they did interact with my mother they did so in a lovely way, demonstrating their knowledge of her as an individual. The activities offered are good, but would benefit from additional support staff so more residents can take part and have attention - something that my mother craved and enjoyed as it gave her reassurance and comfort.
I would have liked to have had the opportunity to talk on a formal and regular basis with a member of staff to specifically review my mother's care, perhaps every 3 months. On a weekly regular visit, there was far too often no one available to talk to in any depth. Communication is vital and for relatives, it is also empowering."
