Wadhurst Manor Care Home in Wealden

Wadhurst Manor Care Home delivers nursing and residential care, as well as dedicated dementia care in one of Barchester’s unique Memory Lane Communities. Our team of highly qualified nurses and well-trained care staff focus on the individual needs of each resident, developing a tailored care plan for each person. The care team is supported by our equally dedicated catering, housekeeping, maintenance and administration teams, who work to meet the interests and needs of everyone we support.

The home is designed to be a warm and welcoming ‘home from home’ in the truest sense. There is a range of comfortable lounges and elegant dining rooms to suit people who enjoy socialising, as well as those who prefer quieter activities. At the heart of the home is a welcoming coffee lounge, where residents can sit and chat, partake in one of our many activities or simply just relax.

This 65-bed home is ideally set in a beautiful 11-acre site, close to the community of Wadhurst, which has rail links to nearby Tunbridge Wells, London and the coast. We welcome you to come and experience Wadhurst Manor for yourself to truly appreciate the difference we make to residents’ lives.

Our team

All new residents coming into the home are given a very special welcome by the staff, and their rooms are decorated to make it feel like they have brought a little bit of their own home into this new environment. As well as the lovely surroundings, the staff in the home try to make each day unique (even more so on special occasions, such as birthdays and anniversaries). There is always an excuse for a get together, even if it is just for a morning coffee or a cup of tea in the afternoon. We recognise residents' individuality and understand the importance of them making their own decisions when it comes down to their daily lives.

Lesley Cole

Acting General Manager

Welcome to Wadhurst Manor's website; my name is Lesley and I am Acting General Manager here.

I have worked for Barchester for many years at several homes in Kent to Devon. Over the years, I have travelled extensively and worked in many countries. My husband and I undertook voluntary work after the tsunami of 2005 in India. We worked in a hospital, school and with fishermen who lost their livelihoods and families during that dreadful time.

My background is varied and includes accident & emergency, occupational health, elderly care and dementia support. I know what ‘good’ looks like and have very high expectations of the homes I look after.
