Activities at Harper Fields Care Home

There is always something to do here at Harper Fields and always someone to assist the residents in any activity they wish to take part in. We have entertainers come into the home to sing and play instruments on a weekly basis, as well as visits from PAT dogs, hairdressers, massage therapists and nail technicians to pamper those who live here. Residents' spiritual needs are taken into account at Harper Fields; we have regular services from the Catholic and Methodist church, in addition to the Church of England, and for our non-religious residents, we have a weekly calming and peaceful ‘mindfulness and meditation group,’ which is very popular, especially for those living with dementia. Residents often like to attend cinema evenings to watch their favourite films on the big screen (complete with sweets and popcorn), or develop new skills at our computer classes, where they can learn how to Skype their families in other countries. Our activities are tailored to suit the individual interests and capabilities of residents and our specialised equipment enables those we support to enjoy everything we have to offer.

Life at Harper Fields Care Home

Ladies Day

Ladies Day

Resident, Beryl used to play golf and was the female captain of the Hearsall Golf Club in Coventry. So, we arranged to go one Wednesday as part of our Ladies Day, and took Beryl to meet up with family and friends, who all played together. We all enjoyed visiting Beryl’s special club and indulged in some tea and cake whilst watching people play a round of golf in the warm.

Zoolab

Zoolab

We had a very interesting visit from Zoolab, who brought in some very different animals for us to see. There was a giant African snail, the curly haired tarantula, a giant cockroach, a snake and a pair of rats. Everyone really enjoyed the session happy that they held all the lovely creatures.

6th Birthday Celebrations

On 18th September, Harper Fields turned 6 years old. All the staff and residents came together and had a Spanish-themed party to celebrate with loads of lovely food and drink and a big tasty birthday cake, which was made by our lovely kitchen staff. Everyone had a great day!

Debbie Miles Concert

Residents had a fabulous afternoon when Debbie Miles came along to perform at Harper Fields. They were up on their feet, singing along and none-stop dancing! Debbie sang songs from the '60s and '70s, much to the delight of residents. She even got them to wear silly hats and play some instruments, which was a great laugh.

Debbie is a regular performer at Harper Fields and a real firm favourite. We look forward to seeing her again in May!
