Activities at Harper Fields Care Home

There is always something to do here at Harper Fields and always someone to assist the residents in any activity they wish to take part in. We have entertainers come into the home to sing and play instruments on a weekly basis, as well as visits from PAT dogs, hairdressers, massage therapists and nail technicians to pamper those who live here. Residents' spiritual needs are taken into account at Harper Fields; we have regular services from the Catholic and Methodist church, in addition to the Church of England, and for our non-religious residents, we have a weekly calming and peaceful ‘mindfulness and meditation group,’ which is very popular, especially for those living with dementia. Residents often like to attend cinema evenings to watch their favourite films on the big screen (complete with sweets and popcorn), or develop new skills at our computer classes, where they can learn how to Skype their families in other countries. Our activities are tailored to suit the individual interests and capabilities of residents and our specialised equipment enables those we support to enjoy everything we have to offer.

Easter Chocolate egg Delivered!

All residents who enjoy chocolate were happy to receive them from our very own Easter bird!!

A gift from our local Sainsbury's

Sainsbury’s of Balsall Common donated a sea of bright and beautiful flowers for our residents at Harper Fields. It was such a special and emotional moment that saw residents and staff with a tear in their eye.

Our residents enjoyed an afternoon of flower arranging and the end result were some stunning displays along with the home filled with the smell of fresh flowers.

Everyone enjoyed sharing their knowledge of flowers with each other, as there were such a varied mix to talk about and we all learnt everyone else’s favourite flower.

After we all enjoyed a cup of tea and admired the talented displays produced.

Thank you Sainsbury’s – such a kind gesture which brought so much joy!

103rd Birthday

Hillary celebrated with a glass of champagne and a special cake.

Her family celebrated alongside her but from a distance as Harper Fields are closed to visitors due to Covid-19 so it was a celebration from a distance.

Everyone had a lovely time.

Happy birthday Hillary.
