Fountains Care Home in Shirley, Solihull

Our new care home in Shirley will be opening in Spring 2020, and has been specifically designed to provide high-quality residential care to older people, including individuals living with dementia.

Residential Care

The home will provide excellent residential care in a warm and friendly environment. Our trained team of professionals will work together to create the best possible experience for those living in the home, striving to deliver excellent care services at all times.

Dementia Care

The home's dedicated Memory Lane community will provide high-quality care for people living with dementia. Within our community, memory boxes with small reminders and items, such as photographs, will be used to help each person reminisce. Certain features, including adapted crockery and tableware, sensory gardens with low risk walkways and activity kitchens, will also enable people to engage in life's everyday simple tasks and pleasures to help them feel like they're right at home. Essential to our homely feel will be the enhanced relationship of trust we build with family, friends and residents.

The home will also have a Magic Table installed, which is an interactive light projector that is designed to support residents living with dementia by keeping them engaged through specialised games. The light projections respond to hand and arm movement, allowing residents to stay stimulated and, most of all, have fun!

Our luxurious facilities, combined with highly trained staff, will ensure each and every individual can enjoy some quality one-to-one time when needed. 24-hour care will be provided in a warm, welcoming environment, with delicious meals and daily activities, including a choice of therapeutic activities. Our varied and stimulating activities programme will encourage those we support to stay active, both physically and mentally.

Types of care

Striving for the highest possible quality care at our home is at the centre of everything we do, and helping residents to maintain their independence, dignity and individuality for as long as possible is an important goal for all who work here. Personal needs and desires are always taken into consideration, so that we can deliver the best quality, bespoke care to everyone we support.

Our Team

Jacqui Harris

General Manager

Hi, my name is Jacqui, and I am the general manager here at Fountains. Welcome to our website!

I have worked for various leading healthcare providers over the years, starting my journey working as a carer. I have progressed with organizations, managing both Nursing/Dementia and Residential/Dementia homes, to supporting a region of 9 homes across central England. I have a passion for delivering great care and love to encourage those around me, in order that as a team we can be the best and deliver the best for our ladies and gentleman that live in our homes.

For me, resident first is a must, and I’m really excited that Barchester as a company embrace and share my values. I love being able to make a difference, seeing a smile on a face just melts my heart.
