Activities at Chorleywood Beaumont Care Home

Our Activities Coordinators are constantly striving to mentally and physically stimulate those we support by organising group and individual activities for anyone and everyone to participate in. There are regular weekly outings in the minibus to nearby places of interest including the local theatre and Cathedral's as well as visits from PAT dogs, visiting zoos, musicians and entertainers. We also host evenings such as our Pizza & Quiz Night that we encourage relatives to come to. Activities are one of the most important aspects of a care home, so it is essential that our team are dedicated to ensuring that residents are entertained, and that life at Chorleywood Beaumont Care Community is fun and active.

Jaime Gilbank

Activities Coordinator Lead

I joined the Chorleywood Beaumont team in 2023 an activities coordinator lead. I  have worked in the care sector for over 9 years and I have been a wellbeing Activities lead for over 2 years.  In this time I continue to build a great knowledge of skills and experience in providing and implementing a variety of activities to cater and support for all needs. Suiting each individual, supporting the mind body and soul.  I am passionate about my role here at Chorleywood Beaumont, providing person centred support and  caring for the wellbeing of everyone. I am a people person and I love putting a smile on our resident’s faces. It is so rewarding and makes me happy.

Macmillan Coffee Morning

Our Head Chef was busy this month baking cupcakes and home baked cakes for the Macmillan Coffee Morning, Harold Tasker also joined him with some delicious home baked cake to help raise money for the Macmillan Cancer Research.

Bridge Club

Our new Bridge Club has been going very well within the community and the residents love to see new faces and show off their skills, whilst having a glass of Sherry.

Home Administration Champion

Tracey Scully, Administrative Assistant at Chorleywood Beaumont, was recently crowned the national winner in the Administration Champion of the Year category at the 2019 Barchester Care Awards on 3rd October.

Carol Gabbitass, Director of Operational Finance at Barchester and a judge for the category said of Tracey that “her approachable nature makes Patricia very good at her job. She truly comes in each day and does her best, working well under pressure. Dawn knows her home inside out, and not only offers support to each of the different teams at the home, but is able to offer good advice to other administrators. She is passionate about her job and loves coming to work. She is simply an asset to the home and to the company!”

Tracey said of her win that, “I am very proud, and very honoured to be receiving this award. We work hard here at Barchester with a focus on the people we care for, and not for accolades, but it really is very special to be recognised in this way.”

Well done, Tracey!
