Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor Care Home

Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor are delivered using the whole home approach, where there is never a dull moment. Our Activities team take great care to make sure that our residents, resident’s families and staff’s physical, mental, and social well-being are taken into account. Whether it is a group session or a personal-centred activity you can be certain it is meeting a need.

We have our regular activities such as Scrabble Club, Bingo, Zumba, Gardening Club, Movie Time, family support meetings, Residents meetings and many more. We are also known for our theme days where the whole home likes to dress up. We have even been known in the past to go for a drive in the minibus in our costumes!

Cake Competition

Residents at Cherry Blossom Manor enjoyed a little in-house competition for the best Christmas Cake.

Christmas Gifts

Cherry Blossom Manor received gifts and cards for residents from local community school, The Priory.

Hair at the Home

Due to no mobile hairdresser being allowed in our homes, Activities Assistant, Emma, (also a qualified hairdresser), set to work on our residents' hair. Residents went in our salon as one person and came out another…

Keeping Fit

Residents at Cherry Blossom Manor wanted some gym equipment to use over the cold months. With this in mind, the lifestyle team put out a request to the local community for their help.

The offers made were so fantastic that we were able to turn our puzzle lounge into a fitness room.  Risk assessments were put in place by the lifestyle team and nurses; the maintenance team freshened up the room with paint; the housekeeping team cleaned the carpets, curtains and upholstery; and the admin Team added the little touches that you find in a gym, such as towels, mints and water to keep hydrated.

We had an opening celebration, where manager, Gigi, said a few words and resident, Herta, cut the ribbon.

Halloween!

Residents and staff decorated the front of the home the day before Halloween. On the day, we had a pumpkin competition, where residents, staff and the local community were invited to share their pumpkins. We also had a Halloween-themed quiz, which was created by one of our volunteers, Mr. Ian Josey.

Birthdays at Cherry Blossom Manor

We celebrated 2 birthdays here recent at Cherry Blossom Manor: George's, a resident on our Silchester unit; and staff member, Christina, the Head of Memory Lane.

Happy birthday to you both!
