Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor Care Home

Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor are delivered using the whole home approach, where there is never a dull moment. Our Activities team take great care to make sure that our residents, resident’s families and staff’s physical, mental, and social well-being are taken into account. Whether it is a group session or a personal-centred activity you can be certain it is meeting a need.

We have our regular activities such as Scrabble Club, Bingo, Zumba, Gardening Club, Movie Time, family support meetings, Residents meetings and many more. We are also known for our theme days where the whole home likes to dress up. We have even been known in the past to go for a drive in the minibus in our costumes!

Life at Cherry Blossom Manor Care Home

Precious Thyme

Local florist, Vicky, from Precious Thyme, gave up her day off to come a do a flower arranging display, followed be helping our residents create spring flowers in a jar.  All of our residents who attended had a lovely afternoon and didn’t go home empty handed.

Birthday Fun

Resident, Iris, was once again in hospital for her birthday, as she was last year. Staff at Cherry Blossom wanted to do something special for her, so we decorated our café with pink balloons and birthday banners, and, on her return from hospital, we gathered some friendly faces and sang 'Happy Birthday', presenting her with a cake and card from us all.

Tin Can Alley

Edna and Ivor were enjoying a little in-house competition over Tin Can Alley. During a chat with Edna, she shared that one of her favourite memories was going to a fair, and Ivor spending all evening on Tin Can Alley until he won the bear that Edna had her eye on.

The staff got on board and had an afternoon of fairground attractions with games such as Hook-a-Duck, Splat the Rat, Lucky (or not so lucky), lucky dip, and, of course, Tin Can Alley.

Residents and staff all had fun and can’t wait to repeat the lovely afternoon.

Visitors from Spotlight

Resident Molly with young adults and children from our local charity Spotlight. Molly’s day was made when children and young adults paid us a second visit this year. Over a period of four months Molly has built a special bond with our visitors, and looks forward to their visits.

Special Present for Resident

One of the residents, at Cherry Blossom Manor Care Home in Bramley Green, received a special gift from a staff member, a Lancaster mug from the Newark Air Museum. The present brought back good memories, from resident's time in the army, as rear gunner.

Sand Art

A resident asked for a new picture for her bathroom, so our lifestyle team stepped in to do some sand art with her. Our next one-to-one will be creating and decorating a frame for this.
