Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor Care Home
Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor are delivered using the whole home approach, where there is never a dull moment. Our Activities team take great care to make sure that our residents, resident’s families and staff’s physical, mental, and social well-being are taken into account. Whether it is a group session or a personal-centred activity you can be certain it is meeting a need.
We have our regular activities such as Scrabble Club, Bingo, Zumba, Gardening Club, Movie Time, family support meetings, Residents meetings and many more. We are also known for our theme days where the whole home likes to dress up. We have even been known in the past to go for a drive in the minibus in our costumes!

Life at Cherry Blossom Manor Care Home
Garden Centre Visit
The lifestyle team arrange to take resident, Wendy, to her favourite Garden Centre, which she visited with her husband on a weekly basis to see the staff, who they had become friends with, and to enjoy lunch in the restaurant. On arriving, Wendy was greeted by several staff who were also pleased to see her.
Watching the Care Awards
Residents attended the live show of the Barchester Care Awards, where we won Garden of the Year.
Dementia Friends
Refreshments are ready in our Poppy Lounge for our monthly afternoon Dementia Friends meeting.
Garden of the Year
Cherry Blossom Manor has beaten all the competition to win National Garden of the Year in the Barchester Care Awards 2021.
The Barchester Care Awards celebrate the staff who go the extra mile for the benefit of the 12,000 residents living in Barchester’s 248 care homes and private hospitals across the country. Categories range from ‘Registered Nurse of the Year’ and ‘Carer of the Year’ to ‘Dementia Care Champion’ and ‘Activities Coordinator of the Year’.
More than 2,900 nominations were received from homes and hospitals across the UK. All entries were a very high standard and everyone at Cherry Blossom Manor is over the moon to have been named the national winner in this category.
Fun with Filters
After a live event with Damien Bailey, residents and staff at Cherry Blossom Manor have been having fun with cameras and filters.
Summer Fête
Residents and staff enjoyed a BBQ cooked by our kitchen staff during our Summer Fête. Sue and her husband enjoyed reminiscing whilst singing along to the live music.
Upcoming events
Don't Dine Alone
We are inviting local elderly people to join us for fish and chips on Fridays. Meal times are between 12:30 and 13:30.
