Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor Care Home

Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor are delivered using the whole home approach, where there is never a dull moment. Our Activities team take great care to make sure that our residents, resident’s families and staff’s physical, mental, and social well-being are taken into account. Whether it is a group session or a personal-centred activity you can be certain it is meeting a need.

We have our regular activities such as Scrabble Club, Bingo, Zumba, Gardening Club, Movie Time, family support meetings, Residents meetings and many more. We are also known for our theme days where the whole home likes to dress up. We have even been known in the past to go for a drive in the minibus in our costumes!

Wellbeing Session

One of our residents enjoyed a one to one Wellbeing Session in his room. During these Covid19 times, and as part of Mental health Awareness week this week, CBM are focusing on the Wellbeing and mental health of all residents and staff.

This particular resident has fond memories of deep sea fishing. He started his session by enjoying fish and chips in a takeaway box, followed by a reminiscence session talking about his fishing trips, and how it made him feel.

The session ended with a sensory activity with the projector wheel of tropical fish, using ocean breeze oil, and playing a relaxing CD of sounds of the sea.

Felix the Generous!

This is Felix. He was on a bike ride with his parents when he found some money on a verge. Felix chose to spend the money he found on buying our staff and residents some cakes to share, from our local Bakery. What a wonderful gesture and a very generous little bot he is! He definitely needed to make it onto the website page of fame. Thanks Felix, you made our day!

Word Games

Residents enjoy a game of Scrabble while still adhering to the government's social distancing guidelines

St George's Day

Residents and staff enjoyed celebrating St George's Day and the Queen's birthday here at Cherry Blossom Manor.

Keeping in Touch

Resident, Eileen, experienced her very first video call over Skype to her daughter. As you can see, this lifted her spirits in these difficult times!

Keep Calm & Was Your Hands

During a resident meeting for an update on the virus, residents were discussing how we needed Winston Churchill to speak to the country, then maybe people would listen.

With tough times ahead of us all because of the coronavirus, residents thought that a little light-heartedness was required. With this in mind, the lifestyle team got into action and added Winston to our reception.
