Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor Care Home

Activities at Cherry Blossom Manor are delivered using the whole home approach, where there is never a dull moment. Our Activities team take great care to make sure that our residents, resident’s families and staff’s physical, mental, and social well-being are taken into account. Whether it is a group session or a personal-centred activity you can be certain it is meeting a need.

We have our regular activities such as Scrabble Club, Bingo, Zumba, Gardening Club, Movie Time, family support meetings, Residents meetings and many more. We are also known for our theme days where the whole home likes to dress up. We have even been known in the past to go for a drive in the minibus in our costumes!

3D Painting for Local Show

For the 4th year our residents participated in the Local Village Show with creative art design. All residents were very excited and worked together on their unique entry. a cherry blossom tree, created from the fingerprints of residents and team members. The beads gave it a 3D effect.

Commander Bryan Jenkins

Commander Bryan Jenkins

Two of our residents enjoyed a visit from a former Wing Commander Bryan Jenkins, a member of the RBL. The commander was happy to meet his colleagues, the retired Rear Gunner - Reg Stockwell, and the retired Wing Commander - Ted Newnham.

Bryan invited them to join the nex RBL meeting, which will take place in our home on the 10th of September.

Summer Fête

We hosted our annual Summer Fête in our courtyard in July, and there was plenty of non-alcoholic cocktails and raffle tickets to go round! Our kitchen team cooked up a storm on the BBQ, and even delivered some food to the rooms of less mobile residents.

The Magic Table

We are delighted to announce that we have just had a Magic Table installed, which is an interactive light projector, designed to support residents living with dementia by keeping them engaged through specialised games.

The light projections respond to hand and arm movement, promoting movement, allowing residents to stay stimulated and, most of all, have fun!

You can read more about it on this page.
